No season can be considered great when the winner is a boring and non-strategic.

I remember reading an article (it might have been the press conference, which they unfortunately never did for Gabon) where he said that he wasn't sure how viewers would react to Vanuatu as a whole. That didn't get things off on the right foot. Jeff does like his likeable casts though. Gabon certainly wasn't one of them. He kept saying how great the China cast was in the weeks leading up to it, and it ended up being one of the best overall casts ever. If he is already saying we'll enjoy Tocantins, then I have a good feeling, because other than "you'll like the group of people in the end, you'll root for them", he never said anything about the Gabon season as a whole. |

Oh you can tell Jeff didn't like Gabon. I liked it though... even though I think Bob winning was kind of lame.
Anyway, I don't think his comments about Tocantins can be taken seriously. He always says he likes the season before it starts. He even did with Fiji. You don't find out until after whether or not he was being honest. |

People are making shit up. I haven't heard Jeff say anything about liking China or disliking Gabon's cast. He was rooting for Matty, Sugar, Bob, and
Ken from Gabon which is practically all of the final 5

I think that for anyone who has watched since the beginning it will be extremely hard to ever have a better 3 season run than Borneo/Outback/Africa, but
China/FvF/Gabon have all been really good seasons imo. Hopefully Brazil keeps the streak alive!

Thank goodness for my foggy warm memory glasses then! But I get your point. Would Outback be remembered as fondly if it was season 11 and not season 2? I would say yes but I am sure others would disagree. Still it has def been a good three season run we are on here. |

In comparison to Vanuatu, Palau, Guatemala, Cook Islands and Fiji, these past three have been GOOD. Out of the post-ASS seasons, the last three + Exile are the best. |

I'll agree China had shitty strategy (I mean, it took them four rounds post-merge to blindside James, and they knew the fucker had two HII's). However, I thought every person on the cast had a very distinct personality (well, with the possible exception of Erik, who was a generic white guy), and we don't get to see that too often. |
