That would be horrible. Next time make Exile Island punishment, none of this living in comfort bullshit. The II is a good part of the game, how boring this
season would have been without it. At least it was used for good, it got rid of the Evil Crystal.

Normally I would agree with an anti-idol post, but from the viewers' perspective, it was obvious that it was going to be 4-2 against Crystal either way,
and from the players' perspective, Sugar made a great statement that said a lot more than a blindside would've.
The game's evolving and it would be the same repetitive shit post-ASS if the HII weren't introduced. The HII has made every season interesting. I won't deny at all that the hidden idol has made for some awesome moments, but seriously, how is the idol itself not one of the most repetitive factors of the show nowadays? Every season, in the handful of episode(s) before it's found, we have the person on Exile searching to no avail for ten minutes. Then we see the exact same search an episode later, only this time it goes successfully. After that, there's 20 minutes of fake suspense in each episode as they contemplate how/if they should use the idol. And in the seven seasons we've had idols: -Four have involved the making and/or playing of a fake idol (actually five but the fake idol Austin made in Panama wasn't shown except on Insider IIRC) -At least four have involved other players searching through a person's belongings and finding the idol (don't remember if this was the case in Panama or CI) In fact, those four seasons in both examples? The four most recent seasons. Who wants to bet that they'll both happen in S18 too? |

Would rather they get rid of all the damn tribal swaps. Mostly anyone switched has no chance of surviving and there eviction has nothing to do with their game
play. Would have rather watched Fang die a will deserved death pre-merge, just like Palau. When it was down to Kenny and Cry-stal it would have been
hysterical watching Kenny and Cry-stal splitting grains of rice and it would have been a great TC with Cry-stal going off on Kenny.

CI - don't remember anyone searching King Kwan's belongings - he strategically showed it off to the girl who couldn't start a fire and ended up third but I think the others realized he must have it because they could not find it though they were sure they interpreted the clues correctly. |

The idol adds quite a bit to the game. Yes, there was a lot of strategy before it was introduced. Yes, it wasn't very effective in Guatamala as it only
saved Gary for one round. Yes, it was pretty lame in Panama and CI because it allowed Terry and Yul to get very far in the game. But when they started
requiring it be used before votes are read it became a major factor in strategy for all four seasons. It added a lot in Fiji and China when there were two
idols and kept the suspense of Idol play going in Micronesia when it kept being up for grabs. It added an interesting twist when they did NOT put out a second
idol this season, with the surprising result that Bob made not one but two very convincing fakes.

I love the psychological level of the II.
It can really psyche some out...it only guarantees one person. ....but so many think that, that one idol, will guarantee them further, when they didn't even do ONE thing to win it. |

I agree the idol should stay, at least for a little longer. The first few seasons with the idol it was never very interesting, but for the last few seasons we
have seen some great idol moments.

The HII needs to stay. What could be interesting is a hidden anti-idol - an idol that negates someone's immunity (to be used after the vote, of course).
