For example drawing maps and basically handing it to the 2nd or 3rd person on Exile is ridiculous. It should always be hard to get. Also having no way to kill it or steal it without voting politics sucks. The game is already 85% biased towards the voting politics part, and the idol made it 95%.

Too much idol business makes the game all about the idol and not about Survivor. Vary the rewards and make a new reward every time the old one is found.

Gave hope and reassurance to any Castaway, whose future otherwise seemed shaky as sand. It taunted and teased, it was the Devil in disguise. Filled with laughter and promises of "HAHA, Surprise!". But every once in a while, that blessed Idol is fake. And to the cruel world of "Survivor" debauchery, a poor Castaway is finally awake. It's evil and mean, but admit it, you laughed for a while. Our short attention spans and need for quick entertainment make it easy to smile. But the joke quickly turns for someone who has a read Idol but never got around to playing it. One who's become arrogant and complacent, and finally can't keep from displaying it. Getting voted out while still holding a real one is much funnier than trying to play one that's not. To be wrapped up in the web of your own awesomeness, and finally get caught! So let this be a lesson to all who are wise. May you likewise avoid being doomed by an Idol surprise.

Sure, Bob making the fake ones were great, but episodes like Randy's boot weren't exciting because of the strategy behind him playing the fake idol (for the third season in a row...), but because of characters interacting with each other. Now that Bob has used a fake idol to try and save an ally, I don't see what else the HII can be used for, so here's to hoping CBS finally gets it right and kills the bullshit twist (along with Exile Island and the final three). I mean yea it sucks because you are alone and its shitty conditions, but in a way aren't you kind of rewarding that person? I mean especially this season. Sugar got to find the immunity idol and then sit around eating fruit. I just don't get why they make it out to be something bad, but in actually it can be very rewarding.
