Even if I was a Canadian patriot (which I'm not), and even if I despised the Bloc (which I don't), I would be willing to make an agreement with them to
support a coalition if it prevented the Tories from passing legislation that outlaws federal employees from striking, and public funding for political parties.
If you strongly believe in those principles, then it should be considered an emergency and drastic steps should be taken.
Also, a sure-fire way to turn a secessionist movement violent/radical is to outlaw secession. When people lack the legitimate legal/political means through which to express political frustration or whatever, it will only come out in other, less desirable ways.
