21. Pinocchio (Pinocchio)
Pinocchio was another movie that kind of freaked me out as a little kid (along with Peter Pan, Alice and Wonderland and Snow White to some extent). The character himself isn't so bad, though: he's pretty cute and definitely has plenty of personality. I have to cut him some slack since he is a puppet just recently brought to life who has Jiminy Cricket for a conscience (which confused me when I was really little because I thought that when ever some one talked about "conscience" they were talking about a cricket). As such, he can't be expected to be very smart or to act like a normal person. Still, he was kind of a dumbass and overly trusting which was pretty annoying since watching dumb people (or puppets) do dumb things isn't all that entertaining to me. Also, I still think the idea of a puppet with a cricket for a conscience is creepy no matter how you think about it.




20. Bambi (Bambi)
I feel like I'm being biased against the older Disney movies I do like the older ones, I just happen to remember more about the movies made in the 90's etc. So, anyway, at number 20, we have Bambi. I'm not a big fan of deer in general, but little Bambi is pretty cute with his big innocent doe eyes and such. The first time I watched the movie (when I was like, two) I thought he (and Thumper and Flower) were girls until the second half of the movie where they are adults! Anyway, Bambi is a fairly timid and shy character, which I guess is expected since deer are shy animals in general. Personally, I've always prefered Thumper and his bold, hyper personality - he was awesome.




19. Aurora/Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty)
Of the three early Disney Princesses, Aurora is definitely my favorite. I always thought she was the prettiest and had the best character design, plus, though I haven't seen the movie in quite a while, I remember her having more personality than Cinderella or Snow White as well. I liked the fact that unlike Snow White, she didn't know she was a princess early on and thought of herself as just a regular peasant. I also liked her interaction with the three fairies and I loved the fact that she had some interaction with Prince Charming (who actually had a name in this story) before he comes to her rescue at the end. She had a much more badass evil queen villain to go up against than either Snow White or Cinderella's stepmothers in Malificent (thanks for reminding me of the name, Joaqenix!) and even though she didn't defeat the villain herself (of course, the Prince did it for her), I have to give her credit for it anyway. And I know for a fact that she was in a trance when she pricked her finger on the sewing needle and fell into her coma thing and she wasn't just being stupid.
