I have no time to rewatch, I have not voted, I'll just post ideas tomorrow night so Warrior can fill in the "Tonedog" opinion. I can't complain. I am beat, having just gotten back late from a wonderful weekend with my kids. Yeah, my daughter, who's 3, cried so much when I had to go, that I had to wait until I drove away to cry uncontrollably for about 2 of five hours of driving. But it was still the best weekend I've had since the last time I saw them.

General thoughts from skimming over the last 2 days of posts.

I appreciate the callout, since I feel I basically cribbed it from CL. I do that without question. I always ask if the scene I just saw has any possible tie to the endgame. Things that repeat always catch my eye, why hammer things home? That's why I'm a little embarrassed I missed the turnaround of Fang. When Ulong got Ulonged, every ep was about "maybe they can finally win this one!" and "Aww, they lost again." They want to surprise you. Fang was so hammered home as unwinnable I should have at least pondered that it was destined to turn around. There was never a hint because it's what they wanted to hide until the right time. Better drama.

Fun scenes, stupid scenes, sick scenes, they sit there. Scenes that tack on meaning to other events are key. This season, I'm watching those confessionals at the end of challenges going into commercial breaks, after Probst has spoken. That's really rare up to this season. Sure enough, the "Randy is a troll" speech reappeared. In fact, this season is far exceeding any other for recaps showing episodes beyond the previous one in them and they used them (and still have to date) to point out Kota utter dominance over Fang. It builds up and builds up until it makes a Fang winner that more impressive. A hard sell. And makes an average winner seem acceptable.

What else has been sold hard? Corrine won't be outdone by Susie. She has been, and I'd wagered Susie outlasts her. Bob was a loyal vote to the Kota 6. Watch Bob vote out Corrine, maybe? She always took him for granted, and nearly everything she's said, when appraised, has been wrong, save for Dan.

Randy's undying loyalty to Kota. Really? We'll see.

For the drive by naysayers, and new Edgicians, take note. Edgic is NOT guaranteed to eliminate all but one player, who is the winner. It is a set of guidelines. Break them, you're dead. That doesn't mean that all but one gets eliminated. Edgic isn't failing as a result. here's a better analogy. In college football, you can't go to a bowl game with a losing record. Definite elimination.

Susie can't win, losing record.

Teams with winning records can't just be in a BCS game. If you're in the wrong conference, definite elimination.

Bob isn't the same league via the edit. Can't win.

Then you're whittled down to the 8 BCS Teams. One is rated first. That teams always wins? Right? My Buckeyes got smoked by my cousin's Gators 2 years ago.

Marcus was rated #1. Didn't win. But no shock he as a top choice. Had every other player been eliminated, failure failure. Matty and Kenny couldn't be eliminated. I just sucked at picking what looked to be #1. I'm fine with that.

Anyway, I'm not really conherent anyway, but I remind you of a couple of tips that need to be repeated.

After the merge, they play tricks on your soul so don't doubt what you've known.

Look for unfinished threads, and things remember that you should have an idea why the winner won. You won't know if you're watching the story of someone who won 7-0-0 or 4-3-0 or 3-2-2 until the finale, but you should have some idea who is getting there by now. It's figuring that out, and not worrying about how they do, that counts. Earl got a kingly edit, won in a shutout. Parvati got trashed by Ozzy, but won by a vote, and got an accompaning edit. But you could see her getting to the end. Who fits that this time?

And of course, don't take advice from anyone who missed on Aras. Oops, that's more than "a couple". Strike that one.
