Didn't Kubrick die during the writing or filming of that movie?
I think it had potential (the beginning & middle were interesting) but it didn't make sense later on. But I do love the creepy orgy scene: "What is the password? - That is the password for admittance but what is the password for the house?" "Are you willing to redeem him?" which meant getting gang-banged by a bunch of mask-wearing freakaziods.

The original Vanilla Sky was a Spanish movie called Open Your Eyes and it was excellent.
But yeah, Tom seriously fucked up the Hollywood version. |
