Posts: 2738 (11/15/08 8:15 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	THE MERGE EPISODE 9 NOBAG Recap In the recap Jeff "Crystal and Kenny were swapped from the red tribe to the yellow tribe. Where they were outnumbered but not outplayed. Cleverly they convinced Susie to help them take out Marcus." Note they show Kenny making the deal with Susie not Crystal. Last week we only saw Crystal talking to her. Scene 1 In the opening scene we see Ken saying that the "Crystal in him" came out at TC. We see Susie saying that she thinks it is great that Ken has come out of his shell. Ken gets the first confessional of the episode. "Could have been me tonight." He says that he's been under the radar at Fang in the beginning and that the blindsides at TC have been because of him. Second scene The scene opens showing Matty unable to start a fire. Then in a confessional he says that in the 25^th day he can not produce a fire. He says the longer he stays in his tribe the more likely he's going home. Reward Challenge At the reward challenge we see the reaction from Marcus's boot. After the reward challenge Matty tells us how exciting the RC was…fluff Then Repugnant Randy tells us that Matty doesn't listen and that his is in "outer limits". Reward scene In Mattie's opening confessional he tells us that it was a "surreal feeling" at the reward. He says that he has been trapped at Fong and needed a reward. Then they show us Queen Bitch Corinne saying that they are "beating" us with wet leaves. She had a nice scene with the little girl but then they ruined it by editing in her saying "I'd be the LAST person that would chum up to a 2 year old." Geeeez Matty gets a fluffy confessional. Third Scene We see Ken stuck in the lake. He figures it out and reminds us (EP 1) that he is a video gamer. He tells us that he is figuring out how to play the game. We then see him getting 3 fish. He tells us that he is the only man at Kota. Who thought the little guy could be the provider. He said that he was proud of himself. He said that he will "fake people out" before they get him. Then he says 'I know for a fact I can win this game." Exile Island Scene Bob makes a great fake immunity necklace. Fourth scene Matty says that Crystal, Susie and (Ken?) can't start a fire. (WRONG!) Here comes "Repugnant Randy" telling us that if he sees Crystal that he is going to puke. He goes on to call her Sasquatch, Big Foot and T-Rex. How sweet! MERGE Bob tells us that he is the luckiest man in Gabon. At the IC Susie and Sugar are the only players that can get a fire started. Susie wins. Aww Sugar...so close. Kenny is happy! Repugnant Randy is back telling us that he HATES old Fang and Crystal. Scene 5 Matty says they are paying homage to all there new gifts. ??? Fluff about the food. He says that everyone is running around in the jungle with their strategies. Charlie says that Sugar is in the middle. The Onions talk to Sugar. Sugar wants Randy gone. The Onions don't listen. Then her comes Queen Bitch Corinne "Not only do I HAVE to act interested in what Sugar says, I HAVE to act like I CARE about her." Then she tells us that "she such a moron" Crystal, Ken, Matty and Susie meet in the jungle. Ken wants Charlie voted off. He wants revenge for Charlie screwing up his chance at the III. "I'm like a rat…mess with me and your gone." Ken comes up with the name Nobag for the Team name. Ken meets with Sugar in the jungle and talks her into voting for Charlie. Sugar then shows up to tell us that she doesn't trust Ken…he could be an Evil Mastermind. She also says that she doesn't trust Crystal at all…she doesn't trust anyone. Off to TC. Repugnant Randy spews more hatred toward Crystal. Crystal gives Repugnant Randy back a little attitude. Ken gets the TCQuestion relating to the new dynamics in the new Nobag tribe. He had some nice words for Charlie. (Playing the game) Randy then says about Ken "He's not a little kid anymore." He is not the same Kenny he saw a few weeks ago. Nothing from Matty! Sorry Charlie! Well, I was looking for a CPsemiP4 edit for the winner in this episode and they delivered with Ken's edit. Edgicly speaking Ken's edit is best by far. This episode sets up his run to the end. Bob - MORP3 Great fake idol. Visibility - Weak 3 Charlie - MOR4 Sorry Charlie…but now you're in a happier place. Visibility - Weak 4 Corinne - MORN3 The Queen Bitch is playing a bad social game. Visibility - Strong 3 Crystal - MORN2 Randy slammed her pretty good at TC. She had 0 confessionals. Visibility - Strong 2 Ken - CP4 The gamer that is overcoming obstacles. Best tended to edit of the episode. Visibility - Medium 4 Matty - MORP3 Mattie's edit reminds me of Ozzy's merge episode edit. He did some narrating and had some fluff. Visibility - Medium 3 Randy - OTTN4 Repugnant Randy at his best! Visibility - Medium 4 Sugar - MORP3 In the middle. Visibility - Weak 3 Susie - UTR She won the IC…who'd a thunk it? Visibility - Strong 1

Does anybody know what that says on the left, above Charlie's name? Is that some nickname for Bob? And notice how Randy and Corinne's names are on either side of the sun? Maybe craig's on to something, it looks like one of those Star of David references! You heard it here first.

I like Bud Light and chips, never touch beans or wine. :) I guess Ken wins, Matty is my number two choice. Ken had a better episode as far as content so I'm going on that. Corinne still seemed mixed to me, Sugar wasn't all positive so I feel she was mixed, also. It was Crystal that started the fight with Randy at TC, but of course Randy was negative, too. I still can't get a handle on this season, it seems like we are supposed to think one thing the first half of the season, then suddenly they are trying to get us to think something else. I wonder if things are going to change up again or if we are going to see a Ken/Crystal/Matty/Sugar F4? Will Matty fight for Sugar to stay in the game down the road or will he vote her out over Susie if that's what Crystal and Ken want? I know Crystal and Ken will want Susie in the F3 as their "goat", they won't want Sugar anywhere near the F3. That right there could cause some problems, especially if Matty and Sugar start to realize that's what Crystal and Ken will want to do before the F5.

Other than that, I think my ratings are pretty straight-forward.

We weren't shownt that at all. Randy's entire assessment of Crystal at TC was correct. In Episode 4 we were shown that this was completely true. And I am still not seeing these P-tones for Sugar. Wouldn't then have shown her at the RC? She was a swing vote and that's it. The editors crafted her as that, emerging from her typical P-mould.

But keep up the good fight. I have more of a problem with the "Corinne and/or Randy and/or Sugar are still alive edgically" bullshit that's been infecting this thread since Marcus got turfed. Those three can still be speculated to win by their fans but this spec/fandom DOES NOT belong in Edgic. Period.

And the inclusion of Ken's pump up by Randy and others at TC to show Sugar being in doubt and knowing Ken is a liar. but then again, the tone doesn't matter, it's all about the endgame scope. You can be as positive as ice cream, but you need a doubt in order to be in a finalist. great posts by everyone.

I think the P(ee) intention from Sugar comes from TC where she is manipulated as saying she hasn't lied or be mean to people and then inserted shots of vocal Crystal and then Charlie looking like they agree. When I watched the episode, I thought they showed someone looking like they didn't exactly agree, but now I can't remember who, dang it.

This fire scene is really not important to the story, the editiors could have simply picked one of the amy confessionals that Matty says he is going home, but why show the Fire? Honestly I think this scene right here could Eliminate Matty. In the game it is stated Fire Represents your life, why would the show the winner not being able to make a Fire this late in the game.
