Kenny, "The Nibbling Rat" ,commerical | ||
|
Well, they ran that Kenny commerical again, and it's very quick. We see the two new tribes walking in. FangFong not looking
too happy at all. And then we see NuNu Kota with Susie/Kenny/Crsytal in a happy march mode, with a HUGE GAP, then poor ole Bob with the flag, obviously
physically separated from the rest of them.
Then after that we see Corrine stifling a screen(when she sees Marcus isn't there) and then we get Kenny, Kenny, Kenny. Saying how the "weakest person is now the stongest person in the game." And that he "Could win this" and then saying he was "like a rat" nibbling away at everything. YUCK! They keep running that too. BARF. NOT an attractive way to feature a possible new emerging winner. Jeff hinted at this in his blog, but he was off by a couple of episodes. Sometimes I don't think he knows what the editors are going to use and when. Though he should. He's one of the producers at this point. AND he has an EMMY! Could Kenny have been made to look less attractive? No. So one of the "Good, pretty" people he certainly isn't. A RAT? And THIS is their commercial???? People are not gonna wanna watch this, Jeff. It's the sickest commerical for a Broadcast TV show I've ever seen!

ETA: Sickest commercial ever, Orange? Surely you jest, it was really not that bad. That or you don't watch much tv at all. |

Seriously. And just fucking stop it with the orange text. I know it's your gimmick or w/e, but orange on purple is borderline illegible.

No need to bury the lead. One of my favorite moments of the entire season happened about seven minutes into this episode. Corrine's reaction to Marcus being voted out. It was almost as good as waiting for Santa to come. I'm pretty sure that Jeff has a Gaboner for Corinne. She seems to crop up in every single one of his blog entries, and he admitted that he finds her
attractive here. Probst comparing Kenny's story to great Shakespeare doesn't bode well at all. Kings never win in Shakespeare. (See: Hamlet - prince, I know,
Macbeth, King Lear) It definitely makes it seem like he's being set up for a huge fall, but I wouldn't think less of his chances to win because of a
Probst blog entry. If I had a gun to my head and had to pick, I'd still make him the odds-on favorite, but there's the definite possibility of him
being Shakespeared.
And of course the blurb at the end. Best episode =/= blindside? I hope we get a better clue from the promos then the one that aired immediately after the
show.

Thanks for pasting!
I wouldn't worry too much just because Ken is like watching Shakespeare - I'm not sure Probst really watches all that much elizabethan drama. (Dude, the gods don't get their hands dirty with stuff like beheading! They just zap someone with lightning or maybe send an eagle to eat our their liver or something.) He does seem to mention Ken an awful lot, which I'm thinking means Ken is around for a good while. I'm still not seeing Kenny as an emerging leader, more as gaining in confidence and influence. But this might be a good example where Probst saw a whole lot more of tribe dynamics than what editing is letting us see. Twice now we've seen Ken successfully confront an onion at a key moment.. That might mean he's a genius social player, in gauging how they would react and the impact the exchange would have on swingy voters like Susie and Sugar. Or it might mean he's lippy, which sooner or later will turn out poorly for him. (Probst might have meant to say it's like watching Sophocles.) Anyways, it's good to see Probst is finally acting like he enjoys the show. |

Corrine, it's just a thought, but when you sense the horse is going in a different direction, it might be wise to lessen your hold on the reins and let the horse guide the way. This horse is definitely going in a different direction and the person sitting in the saddle is Kenny. Kenny is...the new kid in town. The idea of Corrine workig with Ken down the road occurred to me last night. Ken has a long history of befriending Beuatiful Bitches - first Michelle, then Kelly, then he manipulated Sugar, and now he has Crystal. But what if Randy gets Matty\Sugar to boot Crystal? Then it will be claer Sugar is Matty's bitch, and Corinne will be the only BB available. And Corinne likes smart guys, and appears a fine candidate to take to F3. Last week Probst revealed the Corinne vs Sugar rivalry, which we knew NOTHING about from editing.

So Jeff and Charlie are saying variations of the same thing.
It sounds like either Ken is blindsided, or Ken makes it to the end and loses because he decided to play an emotional game, which we've seen more and more of the past few episodes. If this keeps up I can see Ken being a goat to most of the people who are left, which I would have found hard to imagine earlier this season. |

Randy was absolutely right in what he was saying. "Just hold it over the hole and drop it." Ah, but once again human nature takes over, and Matty couldn't see straight to save his life. The ball landed outside the bunker. You CANNOT advance the ball and drop it into the sand. Obvously they didn't have to play the play from the spot it landed in Survivor's game (i.e., from the ground) but they needed to have it no closer to the hole then the spot it landed or they'd receive a penalty. If it was ok to move Fang's ball 10 " closer to the hole, then Kota could have moved their ball 15' closer... there's no difference.

"Ah, but if he gets too cocky, the gods will descend and a beheading is soon to follow. Watch yourself Kenny. A healthy dose of humility could help win you a million dollars." I think Jeff's talking about Kenny facing the Final Jury for the million dollars. The question is, who will be sitting next to Kenny? Will it be Sugar?

Next time on...Survivor. One of the best episodes of the season. No hype. Pure truth. Definitely a blindside and a vote flip - I'm assuming Ken or Crystal's days are numbered. I'm leaning more toward Matty/Sugar flipping to vote out Crystal than Kenny. |

I don't think we need a blindside here. Corrine/Randy are likely to stir up a metric ton of drama on the way out. |

Matty is not going to flip on Kenny; he seems pretty tight with Kenny. Randy and Corinne realized after last night's TC they don't have Sugar in the bag. She proved it by making them think she was voting their way and instead voted the other way. But since Matty is tight with Kenny I think he'll do what Crystal did. He'll make a fake alliance C/R and then go behind their backs to rat them out to Kenny. And yes the whole horse analogy might mean that Corinne might jump ship. In order to save her own ass she'll have to sell out her former alliance. Since Randy seemed a little berzerk in last night's preview, there will be no doubt in my mind she'll agree to take him out. Bob is too nice, and hasn't stepped on any toes to deserve any backstabbing. |

I think Kenny's edit and JP's comments about Kenny are setting Kenny up for an eventual fall. Kenny's rise to power has been too quick and too
easy. And- Kenny comparing himself to a rat. Who was it that was called a rat in season 1? I see him as maybe runner-up. I think Sugar's getting the
winner's edit. Matty's getting a lot of airtime, but I think he's more of a narrator this season. Probably out before or at the final four.
Crystal is sort of a wild card. She could make it to the end. And love her or hate her- you have to admit that watching Randy and Crystal go at it at the
final tribal would be awesome.

James Barber wrote: By my count, there are about five or six "goats" left in the game. And there's not gonna be any blindside next episode - Corinne will try to save herself and fail and she will be booted. There will just be more sparring between Randy and Crystal and Probst is just hyping those battles right now. |

Charlie's post-interview with RNO seems to indicate that he never got to know Ken or have a loser lounge conversation....which may mean that Ken is a sure
F3.
Charlie: I had very little experience with Ken. The only experience I had with him were those three hours we spent as a merged tribe after the challenge and before Tribal Council. |

Yeah, especially with him bringing up the "Someone told me Ken called me a fag" thing- it really really doesn't sound like he's talked
anything over with him.
