Pillars of the Earth was the only tolerable thing Follett has ever done... and I'm not totally convinced that he wrote it, to be honest. The sequel was the same characters, gently tweaked, and every other chapter had sexual coercion of some sort. HORRIBLE. |

the sequel wasn't that bad. His other books are incredibly awful, though. Pillars of the Earth is such a deviation from his normal stuff.
you know what was bad? the sequel to the eight. It sucked and ruined the first book for me. |

I don't think Caris speaks Eagle. She would have needed the ghost of Prior Philip to assist her.
I didn't hate it. It wasn't as good as the first one, obviously, but I like the history stuff. |
