Regarding the above discussion about the historic nature of this election, I have to admit that I felt quite a rush when leaving the polling place after I voted when I thought about the fact that this year I had voted both for a woman and an African/American man for President of the United States. Although it seems like it has been a long time coming, historically, it has not been all that long since both women and African Americans were even given the right to vote to determine their leaders. I fervently hope that Obama's election has broken barriers for both women and minorities (although I am probably being hopelessly naive). I still tend to think that ultimately it may be more difficult to elect a woman, but at least this is a start. It did amaze me though that some of the bubbas that I thought would NEVER vote for a woman seemed quite taken with the idea of voting for a HOT woman, i.e. Palin. Gag! Listening to Rush Limbaugh say that Palin was one woman he would like to see age in the White House was one of the most nauseating moments of the entire campaign season for me - don't know why I torture myself by listening to him sometimes in the car.

And yes, the show was totally boring today, but that made it a whole lot quicker to fast forward through.
