It just seems like with 300 hours or whatever of footage, the editors didn't have to include that. They went to great lengths to make him look idiiotic in
the first episode, and now we know that wasn't an isolated example.
The editors haven't shown us that Marcus is idiotic, so I don't think he heard Dan saying "Wow, this is great. After the merge, I'd like to be number five or six in your alliance, and I can bring Matty along to be number seven." I think post-merge we'll see a back to first season style pagonging, where it's a round or two before the original Fangs even realize what is going on. |

So having that comment in there helps to remind people the effect this switch had , being that it destroyed an alliance. |

These editors aren't very subtle (as shows in their edit for Marcus, which never even makes an attempt at more than caricature). I think if Dan's statement were a big deal we'd get wacky music or some confessional from someone on Kota. They want Marcus to be the main alpha for viewers, and they want viewers to love Matty, so that means they probably have to show as little of Dan as possible, since they may think viewers will get confused otherwise, or forget who the show wants them to see as the favorites. So I think that means we'll be seeing a minimum of Dan until he's gone, and they won't bother to give a lot of reason for his boot, other than the obvious. |

He did say it loud. And I don't think he's an idiot. I love him. But he did say it out loud. I reviewed the scene last night, after Bird Lady made mention of it. |

I've heard more about him from Probst than I have seen or heard of him in four episodes. Yet he does seem likeable - that brief Matty's Most Excellent Sell-Out scene with Jacque last week was great. |

Yes, he didn't declare that they were best buds, or in love, but he gave Kota some useful and helpful knowledge: that he and Matty are aligned. He didn't have to spell it out. :) |
