I wish everyone would get to watch without the judges tainting everyone's opinions with their input. If I didn't read the judges comments, I
wouldn't even guess Wes was a front runner, he is generic and does nothing for me. I would actually probably think it was Chrislyn or Thahn.

I think Wes is in my top three. I dunno. Sophie/Teale/Wes. I guess? It sure as hell isn't Roshani, Chrislyn, Mark, Luke, or Thanh. So...I guess he is.
Though I haven't really enjoyed anything he's done in a while.

Sophie/Teale/WesI stopped really caring about Teale but I could go for that Top 3. I still think Teale's voice is really nice, and he seems like a nice guy. He's just so blah. |

I appreciate everything Teale does. It's not even a like...attracted to him thing, because I'm not. I just find him really endearing and I
want to like him. And
eta: apparently, I had nothing else to say. LOL |

you can say "squareface" too about him, haha.
Teale is the Brian Melo of this season, except that I actually like Brian Melo. |

Tim Farriss, Kirk Pengilly of INXS were the mentors this week, Luke
Dickens is up first singing Lenny Kravitz Are you gonna go my way. For the first time I don't mind Luke vocally, but his stage presence is still
awkward and forced.
Dicko: Great start. You got a big powerful rock voice. But I have to say this again, your voice is still too one dimensional, more light and shade. Marcia: I agree with Dicko that it was a great opener. Love you. Kirk: You're a cheeky one. You were on a tractor, no experience, it's amazing to see you up there. Kyle: Nice work. Hot. You obviously have been singing songs with belting, I'm curious what you're going to sing next week when it's Motown night. Vocal: 9 --- Performance: 10 --- Song Choice: 8

Thanh Bui sings Shadow Of The Day by Linkin
Park. INXS advised him to stay off the piano. Well, Thanh starts off on the piano and the gets off like Wes did with Beautiful Day.
Marcia: I was nervous, I told you to loosen up when doing the low notes, but well done. Kirk: You're just on when you got on the high notes, and you listened to your advice. Kyle: I think you're actually going back to how you used to tonight. You did good, but the audience didnt seem to care. Dicko: I think your problem is overthinking things. You're conciously capable, you should be more unconsciously capable. Kirk: Btw, I care! Vocal: 9 --- Performance: 7 --- Song Choice: 9 |

Sophie Patterson is next. She sings Ana's Song by Silverchair. She says it is a song about the lead singer having problems with being anorexic. I didn't know that. INXS thinks
she has a huge future. I don't know what she has to do, she still tends to get shaky when getting of the softer part of the vocal.
Kirk: That was good, but I still think you need to improve your stage presence more. You just stood and then stand. But you have a great ability in choosign unique/unpredictable songs. Kyle: You did a good job, I'll be honest, when I saw your rehearsal, I thought you're gonna be a disaster, but you did a reasonable job. Dicko: That was a tough song choice, but you did well. Good intensity level. No pitch problems. But you still need to step up in opening more of your personality. Marcia: People are interested in you, so open up. Don't just sit and stand there, but come to us, captivate us. Vocal: 9 (only the high register) --- Performance: 7 --- Song Choice: 10

Teale Jakubenko is singing Goo Goo Dolls - Slide. Thank god he didn't do
the cliche song Iris. Umm, it was pretty ordinary.
Kyle: That would be something on the soft rock radio airplay. You did a reasonable job. It might be a little bit too safe for you. Dicko: I think that might be a bit too tedious, especially when INXS gave you advices to do stuff that you don't usually do. No more playing it safe. Marcia: You have an incredible sexual appeal, but you need to use everything you got. The girls want to slide towards you. Yes you can sing, but it's time to entertain, throw the guitar or something. Use your looks Kirk: I'm kinda dissapointed. It's rock night, and I wish u did something outrageous. That's like country western meets Goo Goo Dolls. Push yourself. Vocal: 7 --- Performance: 6 --- Song Choice: 7 |

Roshani Priddis sings Foo Fighters - The Pretender. INXS thinks she picks the good song and has great voice and energy. Wow, I honestly thought she was gonna
fail, but that great even with minor pitch problems. Standing ovation from Dicko and Marcia.
Dicko: That is my favourite edgy song of all time. I was worried you were going to ruin it. Energetic, full of committment. taking risk. Fantastic! Marcia: I love Foo Fighters. I think that's the most committed performance you ever did. Kirk: I thought that was crap. Just joking. Vocally awesome, to go soft and then hard and then soft Dicko: That was brilliant, hate the outfit, love the performance. Vocal: 9 --- Performance: 10 --- Song Choice: 9 |

Wes Carr is singing U2 - Desire. INXS thinks Wes tends to belt it out right
away, no dynamics, less is more. Well good performance, but it
Marcia: That's what I'm talking about. You used the stage, you're not frightened. Incredible! Kirk: I don't think you remember what you just did, Wes. That was the best of the night. Kyle: Obviously, you're my favourite. You're running around the stage, the cameramen followed you around. Dicko: Because you're so good week after week, your problem is plateuing. But you step up tonight, well done. Vocal: 8 --- Performance: 10 --- Song Choice: 8 |

Chrislyn Hamilton is singing No Doubt - Don't Speak. INXS is surprised with
her not so rock song choice.
Kirk: You really were crying. That was good, a difficult song. Yeah, it was really good. Kyle: At the beginning, you made me worried. First part was I thought the death of Chrislyn, but towards the end was brilliant. Too bad the cameraman didn't catch you throwing the mic stand. Beginning 4 out of 10, Ending 10 out of 10. Dicko: Thank you for giving us great performances in the past, but I thought that was clumsy and over the top. You cant afford that to win. Marcia: What does that song mean to you? tell me. Chrislyn: I got my heart broken a couple of times, and to the point where I really didn't want to hear what that particular person has to say Marcia: We all have had experienced unrequited love. You use it, but don't let it take you over. Try to keep it a bit more together. Vocal: 7 --- Performance: 10 --- Song Choice: 6 |

Mark Spano, the pimp spot, is singing Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon. I don't
think it was that fantastic, pretty ordinary and no show-stopping vocal moments.
Kyle: Fantastic. You are back! You looked very comfortable. Dicko: Sexy and cool. When you get it right, you get it so right. Marcia: Welcome back Mr. Spano. Kirk: Excellent performance, really intense. A moist performance. Kyle: He got Mary on his side, how could he go wrong (referring to Mother Mary on Mark's T-shirt) Vocal: 9 --- Performance: 8 --- Song Choice: 7 |

Jessica Mauboy will be performing her new single tomorrow.
My ranking: 1. Roshani - totally out of her comfort zone, didn't think someone as subtle as her could be so energetic. 2. Sophie - Yep, credit is given for picking a great song to sing Just Okay (3 - 7 interchangable) 3. Thanh - good song choice, but okay performance 4. Wes - He's too like Chris Murphy, typical rock aussie vocal and will get far mainly because of personality 5. Chrislyn - terrible start, but recoverd quite well towards the end 6. Mark - no showstopping moment 7. Luke - for the first time I enjoy him vocally ZZZZZZZZZZZ 8. Teale |

Chrislyn was a mess. I really didn't like Roshani at all, unfortunately. Downgrade back to Roshitty.
Sophie and Teale were really good, I love how different they can be from week to week. Thanh on the piano...please watch. He hardly plays anything at all. I wonder if he can actually play. If you pay attention, he seriously hardly moves his fingers at all. Hate, trying to recreate last week's success. Wes is so boring to me now. He sounds the same every single week. Luke...is someone I honest to god don't understand why he's even there. He didn't deserve to be in the top 100, let alone the top 8. AWFUL. Mark...ambivalence. I'd prefer him in the top 3 over Wes now though. |

Sophie had the best song of the night, but I didn't love it nearly as much as I wanted to. It was good, but not fantastic like that song should be.
Didn't like Wes' song choice at all. Was really forgettable, which is a shame after last week which I think was one of the best performances this season. Chrislyn was awful, Roshani awful, Teale awful Mark was good at least |
