It's always going to be a popularity poll, as proven by the vast amount of young male/female hot players that got ranked in the top 40. People like Colby/Romber/Julie/Parvati/Amanda don't belong in the top group, they just get there for being hot.What about Ozzy not making Top 40 and Aras being the lowest winner? I think there are at least as many people around here with a chip on their shoulder against the hot guys\girls people as prejudiced in their favour.
Marcus would be MORE popular if he was a nerd, and Cirie would be LESS respected overall is she looked like Jenna or Parvati.
Where the poll is most whacky is in downgrading alpha male challenge whores like Terry, Lex, and Rupert because they are hated at Sucks. And Sucks loves it's Sandras and Twilas - older, bitchy, non-athletic females who manage to go far.
When all the results are in, we should compare them with Chapera Rock's all-season rankings that we did in the spring. This is not just a popularity poll, but fandom influences votes. You have to be pretty blinded by fandom to deny that Parvati deserves Top 30 for S16.
The only thing I can say for people picking their favorites is that a lot of times we fall in love with survivors because we think they're playing a really strong game. If Cirie had the same storyline of "getting up off the couch and getting to fourth place" without her strategic success, there's no way she'd be as loved here, and that's just one instance.
