I just noticed that Guatemala Steph is still there...
And Aras isn't one of the best winners, but to call him the worst is absurd. Jenna was carried by Heidi and wanted to freaking quit twice during the game. I get that she redeemed herself at Sucks, but still, for all the people that complain about Kelly going on an immunity streak, look at Jenna. |

9livescat wrote: What? Earl played a great game, but there are so many people who defend Cassandra. I agree, she would have won the season, and she wasn't a bad player. You just can't have all three of them in the top 30 especially when two played identically (or pretty damn close since Earl carried Yau). I'd say that about any season, they just happen to all be minorities. |

Can someone explain me how these rankings are made and how the points are calculated because i'm kind of a noob and kind of lazy to read all the posts.

PG, Yau-Man, and other personalities cloud a lot of the younger CTS crowd's judgment. It's why we're going to see a lot of skewed data as SSS said,
where some of the bigger personalities and worse players make the end. People who refuse to believe their favorite wasn't "the bEsT" will ruin
polls.

Can someone explain me how these rankings are made and how the points are calculated because i'm kind of a noob and kind of lazy to read all the posts.Step 1: I used this thread and the input of other users to whittle down the entire cast of the first 16 seasons to 80 solid names, half of which would make the top 40. Step 2: I posted a poll on SurveyMonkey.com where you would vote on all 80. The options were "Not Deserving Of The Top 40", 7, 8, 9 and 10. Step 3: After the poll closed, I outright disqualified anyone with more than 50% of their vote going to the "Not In The Top 40" category. Step 4: For those remaining, I first find the inverse of the "Not In The Top 40" votes. If 25% of your vote went into that category, then you're allowed to receive 75% of your points. Step 5: I add up all of the 7/8/9/10 votes and come up with a score. Step 6: A player then receives the percentage of that score that is the inverse of their "Not In The Top 40" votes. If the score was 200 points and a player had 25% of their votes go to "Not In The Top 40", then they can only receive 75% of that 200 which is 150 points. That's their final score. Overall, the "Not In The Top 40" deduction does not drastically change the results much at all (which I'll reveal at the end), but it does help balance the list and make a few changes here or there. I believe all 40 that qualified for the list were the 40 that had the most points in the first place, for example. But someone like Natalie Bolton would have been a few places higher had I not done the longer calculation. In other words, I want to let the detractors have their say. If over a third of the electorate think she shouldn't even be on the list, and the other 2/3 are giving her 9s and 10s, then we definitely need to balance things out so she does not waltz into the list with a high score simply because nobody felt she was a middle-of-the-lister (earning 7s and 8s). In case you're wondering, the top three are exactly the same via either method. 4/5 switch places thanks to the "Not In The Top 40" system while the 7th place on this list actually finished 5th in overall points. So, other than three people moving about, the Top Ten is pretty static via either metric. |

If Cassie is Top 30, we can probably look forward to Cirie (twice) Vee, and Earl being Top 5 just because
She was recruited. She was boring. She was physically weak. She'd be gone if her original tribe went to TC a 2nd time. She lucked out being on the RICH tribe both before and after the switch. She lost 9-0. Her big move trying to blindside Yao was foiled. At least Dreamz made some moves and won some challenges. |

As far as Cassandra, I think she's a borderline top 40, but the nine people I listed earlier were all better players than her. Of course, she's also a better player than Steph and PG, though. |

Which is exactly why Yau does not deserve to be in the top 40. Same deal with Amanda is Micronesia because they both should have left at the final 6.The idol is part of Survivor, but the Rich Tribe twist was horribly unfair and a mistake. Biggest reason for discounting Cassie is she never EARNED her way to the merge, the way WEAK WOMEN usually do, but having to succeed at the social game and get into a majority alliance. Postmerge it was easy to skate into F3 since she was perceived as a traitor. Cassie did nothing to outplay the women who lost just because they were stuck on Ravu. We saw Lisi fall apart fast when she ended up on the Poor tribe and got exiled a couple times. But Cassie had a soft all the way.
