That was a pretty weird episode. All kinds of crazy stuff. I liked it, but it just seemed different.

That was a pretty solid episode, better than the season 4 opener.
I'm enjoying the Angela/Dwight affair. "A warm comforter, soft pillows, and a few chapters from a book at 8:30, that is how I sleep at night." I really did love the Jim proposal, I'm such a sap. |

i totally missed the first half hour. crap! but of what i saw, i'd say the line of the night goes to phyllis: "I wonder what people like about
me?"

I really did love the Jim proposal, I'm such a sap. Me too I love that Ryan is the new Receptionist - so perfect! |

I absolutely loved this episode. Between Andy's Umbrella remix, Phyllis' new found inner bitch, and Ryan's groveling, I was in hog heaven. My
favorite line of the night: "I wonder what they like about me? Probably my jugs." Phyllis, you are a star. The proposal made me cry cause I am a big
wuss. I also adore Jim and Pam so that helped. I was super happy to see Toby again but not like that! And Holly is absolutely fabulous. I want her and Jan to
have a throw down so bad I can't even contain it.

The proposal saved it from being too weird an episode to truly enjoy. Glad other people thought it was "different", I was willing to chalk it up to
watching it in SD for the first time.
Was there a cold open? Ryan returning should have been a separate episode (just as Ryan's arrest should have been a separate episode). They could have expanded on the other receptionist, showing her being hired, getting her opinion of the office, and then getting her to leave in some fashion. I'd rather they didn't gloss over the ludicrous chain of events that led to Ryan being rehired as the temp. How could corporate possibly allow Michael to rehire him? I wonder if he's being set up to be part of the spinoff. Is Pam actually gone for good? They made it seem like she wasn't coming back (to the office). That doesn't make sense given she's one of the stars of the show. Creed: "That wasn't a tapeworm." Stanley: "I'll just take the five days off anyway." The vending machine full of insects and rotting fruit. Poor Toby! |

Jim busting Ryan's balls about his misdeeds was great.
Phyllis' smirky "right place, right time" line was awesome!

If some of them were losing weight, and they were staying steady week to week, who was gaining weight? I hope that's not the subtle first clue that Dwight
has knocked up Angela. Her line about the doctor telling her to gain weight makes me wonder.

Agree with others that the episode had a totally different "feel" to it. However, I loved it. In addition to all the moments already posted above (because I enjoyed every little scene in the episode), I really LOVE the chemistry between Michael and Holly. And I love the fact that Michael continues to be a clueless dumbass about it. This is going to be really enjoyable to watch play out. DVR anger at cutting off the last few seconds of Toby's scene at the end. He was just telling about his accident and breaking his neck and it cut off.

I really liked the episode, didn't find it strange at all. I liked all the parts other people have mentioned. Also the scene when Michael grabs Jim's
laptop and has Pam visit the office. Michael and Holly are great together.

Did anyone notice Meredith's face? The first half of the episode her face was red, peeling, and shiny, and the second half it was fine. It was so bad I
figured they must have made a joke about it and I just missed it. It was nasty.
I really enjoyed the episode. |

NiceToAnimals wrote:That's right, I forgot about that. I noticed it and was waiting to find out what the deal was and I didn't hear anything about it the entire episode. I wonder if the reason is in a deleted scene or something? Thanks for reminding me, NTA, because I must now find out WTH was up with Meredith's face. |

Random Musings:
- all in all, great episode - and yes, a little bizarre. - Meredith red shiny face - whattup with that? - Jan was GOLD - make me 100 copies on canary yellow. And the line about her Serenity by Jan candles being used at the missing girl vigil. LOVED it. - Kevin's - 'Pam weighs 228 pounds' line. I died at that. I had to remind my wife that Holly thought Kevin was 'touched'. - The whole Mexican tapeworm thing.... - Creed's 'Hell of an ass' - Pam's flirting with fat guy. Kinda interesting set up and a throwback to Roy/Pam/Jim - now she's engaged and flirting with a guy who gets into her world? Sounds familiar. - Stanley 'fighting the power' Great use of EVERY character on this episode. However, we need some Todd 'Pac Man' Packer. |

I liked the episode, laughed several times. What was up with Michael ripping up the Counting Crows tickets? I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be an indicator of his obliviousness or just him being an asshole. Gotta feel a bit sorry for Andy with his wedding planning while Angela's paging Dwight for quickies. Also, the picture of young Stanley with the big afro cracked me up -- look at those biceps! |
