I feel the same way, about Dr. Will and about anyone who takes out Dick or Natalie. |

Another argument as to why Maggie was a top-notch player is that Grodner actually tried to rig the game AGAINST her by having Kaysar voted back in, and she
still managed to win. Not to mention all the America's choices in favor of Janelle. Didn't help in the game per se, but for Maggie, it's definitely
a strain on your emotional and mental game.
Funny that nobody brings that up. Now just imagine if Jen won BB8, the first argument every single Jentard would constantly come up with is "ZOMG GRODNER RIGGED EVERYTHING IN FAVOR OF DICK AND JEN STILL BEAT HIM !!!!!!!!!!11111111one" |

Dan is the first winner since Jun that I feel would be a good person to know in one's life.
Will is a shallow retard who saps other people's energy for his own ego. |

Dan was good. He was very very good. But he's no Will. He's also done it twice. Ask yourself, would Dan be able to make F4 a second time around?

I think it's fair to compare Dan to Will (especially now that Dan won). They played different games for the most part but there were some similarities.
Dan had the advantage of the Veto. Will had the advantage of the unsequestered jury so its about even there. Both relied on strategy and tried to anticipate
their opponents moves. Both tried to appear non-threatening. Both spent time with the other houseguests, forming a personal bond with each of them (and
listening to them talk about their home lives, friends, family, etc). Whether genuine or not, neither got mean. I dont know if I'd consider Will
"nice" in the way Dan is nice but I dont recall Will ever engaging in name calling or losing control when someone came after him. So he and Dan are
alike that way.
Both are very smart. Dan may not be a doctor but he's an intelligent guy. Dan was compassionate where will was not. I believe a lot of Dan's nice-guy strategy was actual strategy but a lot of it was also due to him being a genuinely nice guy who didn't want to hurt people's feelings. For a 25-year-old, Dan's sense of humor might be somewhat juvenile but I dont consider that a flaw, personally (probably because my own sense of humor is kind of juvenline) but for his age has a fantastic ability to read people. It was a mix of his ability to assess people's character and his willingness to play in to that that made him such a good player. He not only made people feel liked but I think he also made people want to be liked by him. Maybe they weren't necessarily seeking his approval but I think it felt good to them when they had it and that is primarily what turned them around with him. Will was charming. He could flatter and compliment better than no other player in the BB house and that's a big part of how he was able to get to the end of BB2 and close to the end of BB7. Flattery and charm was his strategy. Dan played ahead, working on ways not only to survive the week but to set the stage for the weeks that followed so that he'd have a plan B if the wrong person won HoH. I'm not sure I could say the same for Will, which makes me wonder if Dan isn't a better player than Will in that respect.

moviegirl11 wrote:I agree with that for sure. I think Will's strategy was more direct whereas Dan's left many people wondering WTH? I never understood why Dan went so overboard with the veto roulette until he explained it during Q&A. He knew Memphis was in it for Memphis and to get really hated by the jury was the only way Dan could get Memphis to go with him to the final 2. I doubt Will would have thought that far ahead. |

Excellent post, moviegirl. I feel like Will won on charm, but also on consistency. He basically said as much himself by pointing out that he said from the
start that he would lie to everyone- and he had the benefit of an unsequestered jury who knew that was correct and not just him covering for himself after the
fact. Repeatedly throwing challenges, repeatedly being nominated. He played a very strong, level game. Dan, oth, played a more adaptive game. He knew when to
go UTR, when to appear weak, when to come on strong, and how to appear like a goat who was still more likable than whoever he was going to be sitting next to.
I think his game was a shade more complicated than Will's due to his variation so I give him the edge.

I don't think you can argue that Dan is greater than Will; Will was a pioneer and the first and most memorable to play such a strategic game. You could argue that Dan is equal to Will in game playing skills, he just played a different type of game. Definitely top 2 though, no matter how you rank them. |
