I know they are on different networks but the idea of "fringe science" becoming mainstream would certainly be convenient for using "scientific explanations" to cover the stuff in Lost.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I off on my own...?

"Fringe" related to Lost? |

I have never started a new thread and fully expect this to get locked but...after watching Fringe last night (and seeing the Numbers in there on occasion) I
couldn't help but wonder if there will eventually be some sort of connection between the two shows.

I meant to watch Fringe last night. Was it any good?

No way did it come close to the Lost series premiere. And from what others have said in OSTS, it didn't come close to Alias either. It has an interesting
premise, right now I think it's at about 50/50 whether it will be good or suck. I'm giving it a few more watches.
They could probably link it to Lost in some fashion. Like having the Massive Dynamic (stupid name!) corporation being linked with Widmore or Dharma. And of course it is interesting that Fringe opened on an airplane with some very Lost like moments |

I doubt it will end up having anything to do with Lost. Abrams just likes to do that shit with his shows. Alias and Lost had some stuff like that too, but the
two shows really had nothing in common. I haven't actually watched Fringe yet, but it's on my DVR.

Fringe isn't awful, I didn't really connect with the Olivia character and I had an inkling of compassion for Dr. Bishop. Joshua Jackson just kind of
ruins it...
Olivia also seemed a bit to gung ho to try the experiment to talk with her boyfriend. Definitely need to see the second episode, that is where a show really shows its legs for me personally. It was very X-Files like to me. Actually it reminded me a lot of X-Files: I Want To Believe (but that might have to do with it having the FBI, snow, and a crazy old man). The show picks up after the first 30 minutes when Dr. Bishop is introduced and the last 20 minutes are pretty good as well. |

I missed it but a friend of mine asked me "does JJ have a thing for planes and numbers or something??". (HEY ANGELONE RHYMES WITH BALONEY!!)
I heard there's a repeat on Sunday? Hope so. |

I got really bored with Fringe after they got the doctor out of the mental institution, even the parts at the end that were supposed to 'shock' me,
didn't. It's not my cup of tea i'm afraid...I wanted to like it so bad though!

Fringe premiered to 5.9 ratings. It's even lower then the Alies premiere and if it will average lower then 5.0 it's in serious danger. |

I thought the premier for Fringe was pretty good.... although it doesn't compare to Lost at all...

Isn't the Black man in fringe the same Blackman that visited Hurley at the mental institution?

Yup - Matthew Abbadon has a new job and is just as creepy here as in Lost.

I was watching the episode about the 'equation' tonight and I felt very strongly that there is a link with lost. The bit where he says 'number
control everything' and the whole 70's feel to all the science. It would be a clever (but i guess commercially risky) way to explore the mythology
further, without having to spell it out in lost. anyway, that's mho :)

Oceanic Air ticket shown on this week's epi....Both shows are in J.J.s world.

Yep, I noticed that. I really don't get Lost vibes from this show though.

It's just JJ trying to be cute. Just like the Dharma logo popping up briefly in Cloverfield.
Hint: The Cloverfield monster isn't Smokey. |

I can't remember, during the opening credits maybe? It was onscreen for about a half second, lol. |
