I don't think Memphis wanted to take the risk of Keesha bringing Dan to the end instead of him and facing her in an endurance competition. If he tells her straight up at the final questioning his thought process, she may respect his game play. Who knows. Dumping Keesha is not a game ender for Memphis. Its a calculated risk.
