Come on Trixie, I know you are not this stupid. It's called a post-convention bounce. Obama had one too. As has just about every presidential candidate since polling began.

I have noticed that more than once in the past few weeks, in one political thread or another, you have posted the Gallup results that have almost always shown Obama with a slight lead, and commented on what a lame candidate he must be, since the political environment is so bad for Republicans he should be doing much better.

You are right about one thing, head to head national polls don't mean shit at this time.

But as you know, elections are not won by popular vote. It's all about electoral votes.

I'm going to assume that you haven't looked at any of the state by state polls, which give a more accurate view of where the race is at this moment in time. Even the most conservative pollsters, when polling states and putting together an EV map, show Obama with a more than comfortable lead.

Of course this could all change tomorrow. But if you are going to use poll numbers in your posts to make a point, go for state by state EV votes. They have some value at least. Gallup's head to head poll has none.
