How the hell are her and McCain's policies going to help the average American, when they are just carrying on the same shit Bush has done. We're still going to be giving these fuckers half of our check every damn pay period, while their big wig backers are still ringing in the dough. |

Maybe it's the "probably what I intended to say" that doesn't sound very genuine. He got called on it and NOW has to explain what he meant.
Isn't pro-abortion a huge issue for Dems? Bottom line is that Roe vs Wade will never go away, so everyone gets to make choices about their personal lives and everyone (Dem and Rep) should be happy. It's not going anywhere. Wait - edited to add that late term abortions or letting babies that survive an abortion attempt are left to die will STILL be issues of disagreement. But the basic ability to choose via Roe vs Wade will always be intact. |

CNA = Certified Nurse Anesthetist?

$10 - isn't that like advanced McDonald's employees?
Not in my state, Certified Nurse Attendants make about $20 and my state is considered on the poor side. |

No wonder Gallup has McCain up by 4 points.Come on Trixie, I know you are not this stupid. It's called a post-convention bounce. Obama had one too. As has just about every presidential candidate since polling began. I have noticed that more than once in the past few weeks, in one political thread or another, you have posted the Gallup results that have almost always shown Obama with a slight lead, and commented on what a lame candidate he must be, since the political environment is so bad for Republicans he should be doing much better. You are right about one thing, head to head national polls don't mean shit at this time. But as you know, elections are not won by popular vote. It's all about electoral votes. I'm going to assume that you haven't looked at any of the state by state polls, which give a more accurate view of where the race is at this moment in time. Even the most conservative pollsters, when polling states and putting together an EV map, show Obama with a more than comfortable lead. Of course this could all change tomorrow. But if you are going to use poll numbers in your posts to make a point, go for state by state EV votes. They have some value at least. Gallup's head to head poll has none. |

What, McCain is up a few points AFTER his convention? Who's ever heard of such a thing?!

if it's close - McCain wins. The GOP is much better at manipulation of votes on more states. (Ohio, Florida, et al.)

CRNA is a nurse anesthetist, which is what I'll be if I don't become a nurse practitioner. And phoofe, no fucking way, sorry. Even in NYC they aren't paid that much. So, you're a dirty liar. Unless you are counting them as per diem, no benefits, and shift differentials. Edit to add: I've actually quit my job recently and took out a loan to pay for my living expenses the rest of the time I am in school because of my back. When I was working as a CNA part time during the summer, my base pay was $12 as a new CNA with $1.50 evening differential and a $3.00 weekend differential, so I was making $16.50 on weekends and $13.50 during the week. Not too bad for a part-time school job to pay for my gas and groceries. But still, a mother wouldn't be able to support her and her child on that wage.

About the stagflation thing -- it did begin during Nixon's first term. He tried to stop it with price and wage controls (bold move for a Republican
president), but it didn't help. I don't know if Ford did anything other than have those WIN (Whip Inflation Now!) buttons printed up. And Carter...well
we all know how that ended. Part of the problem was the hangover from LBJ's 'guns and butter' philosophy during the Vietnam War (I'm not
discounting the OPEC price increases). It's no wonder we're starting to feel the affects of 7 or 8 years of unchecked spending.

If mcCain doesn't win it'll be because of his lack of a strategy in regards to the Latino vote. He's bucked some in his own party when it comes to
immigration reform, but he doesn't seem to have done anything to reach out to Latinos. Bush pandered to them heavily and got 40% of their votes. McCain
need to get a similar number in the battleground states.

From Obama's website:
"On the Internet, Obama will require that parents have the option of receiving parental controls software that not only blocks objectionable Internet content but also prevents children from revealing personal information through their home computer." Welcome to 2001, Barack. |

Okay - after googling our local rates - I am full of shit. Yikes! Unbelievable that Mc Donald's manager's would make more $. That is a crime when medical care is so important! Mea culpa! I am shocked and suddenly worried about going to the Dr! |
