A candidate who has been in the public eye for the last 22 months doesn't agree to a debate format, and it's just like taking somebody who emerged from nowhere 8 days ago, saying she's ready to hold the second highest office in the land, and then whisking her back to a safe house outside the continental 48.

When I lived in Berlin for 2 years in my 20s, I have never felt more patriotic and proud of my country. When you are living in America, you don't realize how fortunate you are. (And Germany is a nice country, it's not like I was in India or something) McCain saying he fell in love with his country while in another country was something I could relate to. But his situation was 1000X worse than anything I've ever endured. I think his comments were genuine. X
