Kapuskasing is Shania country. Geez, the sun is setting so early for mid september up there. And 6 the high for mid September. Yikes. I complain far too
much here in the south of the province.

Good lord.
I find it slightly strange yet amusing that people upload weather report clips on youtube. I don't see the point but whatever... But it's a whole another level of strangeness when people upload weather report clips from 10-15 YEARS AGO. WTF?!? Are these people obsessed crazy? Do they have stacks and archives of videotapes of weather reports in their basement? |

Yeah, at first I was like wtf? How to people have clips of TWN 10-15 years ago? |

If you're a meteorologist (or an amateur one) or just simply a weather aficionado that's tracking weather/climate/temperature patterns or records
throughout the past 20 years, I guess I'd understand.
Regardless, the old clips are a hoot. Just shows how much things have changed or remained the same. |

smartguy24 wrote: As an avid fan of ragtime/dixieland jazz music, I approve TWN's use of that kind of music on their weather reports. As for the other clips, the memories just came flooding back to me. The music really is memorable. If they ever release a CD of The Weather Network muzak (lolz), I'd totally buy it. "Sounds of The Weather Network" > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > CI winner albums eta: useless tidbit, but the Claritin Pollen Report theme is really old. I've heard of it as far back as 1999-2000 (incidentally during my woodwind ensemble years). Go figure.

Top 5 LF tunes from the past 15 years...got nothing better to be doing:
1. 2003 #1. - Fun, upbeat. Made me want to go outside and take advantage of the sunny weather...if that was what is in the forecast of course. 2. 2005 - This a tune you'd never get tired of. 3. 2002 - I think this is the most nostalgic tune for me of the entire bunch. Not sure why. 4. 2003 #2 - Love the sound of this one. 5. 2005 #2 - Such a nice relaxing tune. The one they've got now is kinda shitty...although I think it's been used for so long I'm just tired of it.

2002 LF
Fuck! Chris Scott was sooo fiiinnneee back in the day. I don't know why but he turns me on!! I think it's cause he is so smart and just cute. Now, he looks old as heck. He's aged a lot. Loved him doing the 6pm-12am shift weekdays. I used to tune in just to see him, he's such a weather geek, it was great, he practically would orgasm at lake effect snow events. I love the 2005 theme. The current one is getting really tiring, I agree. They need a change, hopefully for the winter season, they usually switch over. ETA: Shit, I just realized this tune we have know has been for years. I guess they won't switch it over in the winter. :-( If they ever release a CD of The Weather Network muzak (lolz), I'd totally buy it. X. Same. I love their tunes, they are so catchy and just great background music just to chillax to. But they seriously need a new Local Forecast jungle now.

MikiBoi wrote: Omg...lake effect snow. Every time any of them would mention it they would just HAVE to explain it to the viewing audience. I pretty much know the definition off by heart. And Alberta clippers! I don't think we had a single Alberta clipper this past winter hit us in NL. A couple years ago Alberta clippers gave us so many snow days. I'd totally buy a Weather Network music CD. Gotta have the highway conditions and ski report music though. |

Omg...lake effect snow. Every time any of them would mention it they would just HAVE to explain it to the viewing audience. I pretty much know the definition off by heart. Yes, it's soo annoying when they give the definition 100 times. Lake effect snow happens a lot in cottage country in central ontario, it's like daily sometimes, it's nuts. There is also sea effect snow but they don't mention that often. I <3 the highway conditions theme. <3 I think Toronto area got all the clippers last winter. Serious, it snowed like every few days here, it was NUTS. I'd be in school and by 4pm everything was blanketed by 10-15 cm already, the fucking buses couldn't even move, my bus got stuck in the snow, it was terrible. We got like 210 cm for the winter and that isn't as much as places like Ottawa or the Praries or especially the maritimes/NFLD get but we are not used to that kind of snow/weather at all. Not since the snowfall of 99 when we called the army did I ever see so much snow. I remember winters that we'd get maybe one snowstorm the whole winter, it would be green grass in late January. Seems like winters have been getting colder/worse here since the 90s. Global warming my fucking tits it is. Not enough warming here for my liking. |

From Weather Network pumpkin head to the House of Commons A thankful Scott Simms continues to win the vote, now as a Liberal MP. |

Anybody else of the opinion that the school day forecast was/is the stupidest forecast that TWN has? It was a glorified section of the local forecast that most
of the time I had just seen two fucking minutes ago.
Another pretty catchy tune though... |

School day forecasts were just useless. I think they should just take it out alltogether. Kinda silly.
Scott Simms, he was good too, but he hasn't been at TWN for eons. I remember one of the anchors giving him a shoutout and good luck as an MP, I was shocked when I heard it. I am partial to the international forecast jingle, I love it, it sounds latin influenced. |

Reading all this shit about TWN is actually more entertaining the CI at this point. I mean that honestly. I'm enjoying this.
LOL seaguy, we're discussing The Weather Network. |

At least we all have another thing in common. Not suprisingly since we are defined by our weather as Kanookians. Guess it's one thing that unites us all
in this regionally divided country.
TWN, true winner of CI6? I really want all the weather network jingles on a c.d. |
