In all honesty, what can they really do about regional voting except for not putting in certain people. But, you can't risk alienating viewers and losing ratings/an entire part of the country.If they went with the original format and had top votegetters get through each week than people would need support from across Canada to get into the top 10 in the first place. We would never see people like Mark in the top 10. The top 10 would've been completely different. Regional voting alone wouldn't be enough to carry someone into the finals. That would solve part of the problem.
