Is anybody but me wondering why Palin brought up Hillarys crack(s) in her speech today ?

Van Halen Mad At McCain Over Song Use
John McCain ended the big rally introducing Sarah Palin as his running mate with the Van Halen song "Right Now," and the band is not pleased, reports TMZ: After John McCain used a Van Halen song during his big speech earlier today, the band wants to make to make one thing clear -- they're not running with McCain. Oops! But it's familiar territory. Just two weeks ago, rocker Jackson Browne was similarly furious about McCain using one his songs. |

Vetting is really a pretty basic concept. But Republicans only seem to see vetting as a process to shut out anyone who isn't a deeply partisian hack, ala
Monica Goodling and the DOJ and any number of Bush appointees. Loyalty is all that seems to matter to them. It's the only qualification they care about, as
in "Heckuva job, Brownie!" They just don't seem to get, or care, that there can be any number of reasons that make a particular candidate a bad
choice. Party and personal loyalty trumps all.
This is going to blow up worse than the Kerik fiasco. |

Slip, back then Mondale knew he was going to lose so he went outside the box and picked a female. Dems did a piss poor job of vetting her. So give McCain
credit for being ballsy to go outside the box for this one. Considering they are within 3-5 % points of each other, picking the stereotypical white male would
have been the safe pick.
Bottom line: today, nobody is talking about Obama the day after HIS nomination and acceptance speech. Nobody. McCain and his controversial pick has stolen the thunder from the Chosen One. |

One more thing and then I'll shut up for the night. For weeks now, Republicans in the media, and Republican posters in this thread, have been crying in
their beers for poor Hillary. She came in second, she DESERVED the VP slot! She EARNED it. How DARE Obama not offer it to her?
I'm looking at you especially, Rugslug. I'm certain that you'll show the same outrage now that McMansions has passed over poor old Mitt. He came in second, he deserved the VP slot. He earned it! Right? Yeah, I won't be holding my breath. |

Correction: Everyone is talking about how McCain threw the election to OBAMA or how he can't use the experience thing against OBAMA anymore. They're
still talking about OBAMA.

The fact that Dem partisans think Palin is a bad pick seems to indicate that McCain made a good decision.
The question is whether conservatives (who don't like McCain because he's too liberal) think she's a good picck. |

GoodNeighborgirl wrote: More telling is that except for Palin being on the ticket, no one is posing a reason to vote for McCain. McCain and his controversial pick has stolen the thunder from the Chosen One. McPOW has bet the house (well, one of 'em at least) on this one. It's an all-or-nothing gambit. Not the move of a player who thought he had the better hand, though. More the move of a player who feels he has nothing to lose.

If McCain was serious about attracting women voters, he'd promise to drop dead the first year in office.
A little health scare before elections .. it will be like Cheney's ticker, always promising to fail. |
