Ahhhh yes it was another wonderful evening in the City of Brotherly Love for me.


It didn't look good for 7+ innings since the Phillies had a lead and some of their fans in my section were buzzing in my ear throughout the game for wearing a Santana jersey. Of course, yours truly did his share of trash talking which caused the Phillies fans to come at me even harder . It was quite an intense atmosphere and Philly faithful were beating their chests after the Mets gift-wrapped another victory the previous night (Jerry putting Sanchez to start the 8th, Schneider positioning at the plate and not being able to catch the ball, the Mets outfield positioning on the Bruntlett hit that tied the game. I can't still figure why the fuck the Mets outfielders weren't playing a no doubles defense w/ the tying run at 1st & 2 outs)


But anyway, that was until the hottest hitter in the NL aka Carlos Delblasto smacked his second HR of the night to tie the game. Myself and Phillies fans in my section all thought Manuel should've put Lidge to face Delgado and go for the 4 out save or, at the very least, have Seanez pitch around Delgado and face a struggling Beltran. Since Mets managers have blown games left and right against the Phillies since last June, it was nice to see Uncle Cholly make a huge blunder and the Mets take advantage of it for a change.


As for King Johan the Great, he didn't have his best stuff but he battled for 6 innings and kept the Mets in the game. He only really made one terrible pitch and that was to Werth who hit a legit HR. Unlike Howard who hit a pop fly that would've been caught in nearly every ballpark in the majors. It just made that much sweeter for me when Delgado hit the game-tying HR in that exact same spot.


I can't describe how orgasmic it was to watch Daniel Murphy hit a ROPE to RF off the great Brad Lidge. When Lidge came in to save the day, a Phillies fan said to me "The best closer in baseball is entering the game, time to go home Mets fan" (I guess this guy never heard of Mariano Rivera or Joe Nathan lol). Anyway, after Schneider's bloop hit made the score 6-3, I turned around and said "Sorry, were you saying something before?" and the guy turned red. The look on his face was fucking priceless OWNED.


Mets are now 7-1 in games I've attended at CBP over the last 3 seasons. I'm getting sick to death of watching the Mets leave that ballpark victorious.
