My grandmother would never, ever even tell me what the stuff on her ring meant. That woman loved me so, so much; I'm not even sure if there are words to describe how much she loved me. She wouldn't tell me the Eastern Star secrets though I miss my Grammy. There is always a hallway with pictures of all the past potentates for that temple (I think that's what they are called). I've never seen one that looked Middle Eastern; what is the connection? Were the first masons from the east? Certainly you are allowed to say whether one lump or two is preferred, Weems.

My Grandmother in law was Worthy Matron (maybe several different times) and we always went to the Mason's building for ceremonies. Face the East.... blah blah ... I kinda liked it, it was so formal and rather "powerful". I think the mystery of it all added to the feeling.

It was only in the last five years or so that I began to find out about "The Masons". And then I was afraid to ask my dad anything about them. Aren't they supposed to be part of that whole Illuminati thing?

It turns out they weren't druid priests at all! Just a couple of Shriners looking for a good time! I always thought whacks was wax. Those Shriners must've REALLY been looking for a good time.
