I still can't understand the Mets catcher not moving up to block the plate on the throw home.

You guys just dodged a major bullet.
I don't what happened on that throw home. Was it just a case he tried to make the tag and forgot the ball? The throw looked good. |

I was watching parts of the cubs game earlier and I've never seen an entire lineup look as if anyone could come through with a clutch hit at any moment
like the 2008 cubs. Maybe I'm just used the to black hole that is the bottom of the phillies lineup, but when you have a catcher with 7 rbi your team's
pretty good. I really can't see any NL beating them in the postseason.

Wright stumbles around falls down and Werth comes into 3rd grabbing his own toe. Weird moment.
At least Heilmann didn't blow this. |

I just can't believe how the Cubs can pull wins out of their asses like they did tonight. They're really scaring me - in a nice kind of scary way.

that brett myers ab was probably the most hilarious ab of the season. Right? That was one of the weirdest, wildest, coolest game i can ever remember and i don't even know where to start in commenting on it. All i know is i was doing the George Jefferson bed dance when Coste to Coste ripped that game winning hit. Every division should have the Mets in it. The entertainment they provide is not to be missed. |

Too bad the party will be short lived as usual.
God pitches tonight. PS: If you blinked and missed it, Hamels finally faced the Mets last night. So weird to see him on the field against the Mets.

It must really stick in Mets fans' crawl that our bullpen pitched a complete game shutout last night.

Why is Steve Phillips a MLB analyst for
ESPN?
Yesterday on ESPN radio, he blathered on that the Mets organization was asleep when Eddie Guardardo was on the waiver wire... Ummm hello? AL gets first crack before NL gets a shot and there are about 10 NL teams that would get a shot before the Mets do... Phillips is a fuckwad. |

Since this is where most of the Chicago sports fans congregate these days and I don't feel this warrants an actual separate thread:
Did you all hear Mariotti resigned from the Sun-Times? YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! Unfortunately he will still be on Around the Horn. |

^^^Saw the headline about Mariotti but skipped the story. Too busy reeling from Obama's diss of Cub fans and DLee's agreement with his diss.
