I'm with PPMan. That speech was so contrived and unconvincing. Just the usual hot air. Althought the video tribute was well made.

Oh, and the Hitler analogy -- always a winner

Um, why does any thinking person get excited about a speech?

Strange Flute wrote: Here's a newsflash for you - ALL of the speeches are just hot air. The Dems, the Repubs...it's all the same, every time, every election. If you're waiting for that one speech that's going to make you say, "Wow, this is the candidate who has all the right answers and can build unity and can change Washington!" then you're seriously deluded. Nothing has changed in Washington for years and it won't change anytime soon. There is nothing that either candidate or keynote speaker could say that will make me vote for either candidate without holding my nose. The system stinks, but we're stuck with it. It could be worse. Manage your expectations and you won't be disappointed. |

I kinda liked the zinger about McCain not voting for women
getting equal pay. No sense raising taxes without a good reason :^) It went better than I expected. I thought she was going to storm out with her followers like they did in Animal House. |

I have much less compunction giving myself over to emotion in the knowledge the Hillary Clinton has the policy chops to back up her words. Just b/c Obama
can't back his up doesn't mean all speeches are suspect.

Well then it's probably good that I don't have any money to invest.
And my emotions are connected to a clear-headed evaluation of my political self-interest. I really liked the theme of Americans picking themselves up and starting over. I suppose a cynic would say that was a bit solipsistic on her part. |
