The whole gumgate episode solidified any doubt of that fact. She is truely EVIL! I stopped watching this show, and I hope that others do the same. In my opinion Jon is just as bad, he clearly has no testosterone left in his body, Kate drained any masculinity that he had.

Kate doesn't like her children to have gum at that age because they get it in their clothes and other things. Jodi gave them gum. Kate is the parent, not Jodi. Kate was jutifiably mad and didn't go way overboard to Jodi. She did go overboard with Joel, but what parent hasn't. And that blog is a complete joke, full of self-justification. Everything Kate does... bad. Everything Jodi does...good. I especially like the quotes on the side. What this really is, is a blown up family money dispute. Jodi and her sister can play the angels, but family solves problems within the family, not by creating character-assassination blogs. They talk about it all being in the best interest of the kids, but most of what they talk about is how much money Kate is making. Kate didn't want them to make money off the show (for good or bad) and so they decided to take her down. That is not the moral high road in my opinion. Kate didn't take it public, Jodi's sister did. And vilifying the kid's mother is not in the best interest of the kids. It's bitter political tactics. If I were Kate, I'd never let them have any contact with the kids again.

I still remember one time on a car trip my mom got so pissed at my sister and I she threw our comic books out of the car window. And my Sister, in return, got so pissed at her kids one time she threw their swimming goggles out of the car window. It's funny now! The last episode I watched was the 'gum' incident and after that I decided "no way" would I watch this mother Kate again. I had no idea regarding the whole Aunt Jodie incident had come up about Kate not wanting Jodie to be compensated for babysitting or use on their TV show. I'm glad now I listened to my gut on this TV viewing option. And if all you Kate lovers out there are wondering why I'm posting, it's because this thread was on top tonight when I logged in.

Anyway, I understand why Kate is the way she is! There's 8 kids under 8 in that house. You need strict structure to make sure someone isn't eating something they're not supposed to from the floor or halfway killing themselves! I have two and my kids have times when they drive me bonkers! I totally gotta give it up to Kate. I bet a lot of you would bow down to Kate if you had to keep 8 young kids happy, fed, and occupied all day everyday. What the negative folks on here don't understand is that Jon knows that too, and bet he's very thankful for her. You talk about vilifying the mother not being in the kids best interest but how is giving kevin and jodi no contact?The kids love aunt jodi and not allowing them to have contact with her or their uncle kevin would not be in their best interest. WHile I agree with much of what you said, lets just remember that kate started all this by putting money before family. In addition to that, kate has a history with this kind of thing. There is a reason we dont see many family members! ETA: I do like kate and am not one of the kate haters, however, im not going to defend kate, when she is clearly in the wrong!!! Being a young new mother I needed some encouragement to get me through the very hard first few months. I seen the show and thought to myself...Wow this woman has 8 little ones to take care of everyday. If she can manage with 8, I can certainly hold it together with just 1. I watched almost every episode/special and I understand why Kate is the way she is. She literally has to be. Like an above poster said "There's 8 kids under 8 in that house. I can barely take care of everything going on in my house and there are only 3 of us!! I do agree though that Kate can be a cunt sometimes and there is no need for her over the top freakouts. GumGate for instance....She told Collin she was going to throw out his "buddy" knowing damn well she was not going to. I don't care if you are the biggest bible thumper out there you know there has been times that tempers were lost. Things may have been said or done that you regret or find just silly to have been mad over later. She was just really angry and I think she just says whatever comes to mind. I know if someone gave my kid gum at that age I would flip the fuck out. What if that would have got in his hair?? We would have a bald little Collin!! Im kinda OCD myself when it comes to messes. Stains suck and damnit clothes are expensive and I like to have my daughter look nice. I do have one major problem..Where can i send a gift card and a picture of some walky talky for them? Because seriously Kate that yelling shit has got to stop. I feel embarrassed for them when she does that. Not that im complaining but the people that don't like the show..Why do you watch it and give it ratings? No ratings = no show. Its on at least 7 thousand times a week because people will watch it. I honestly hope they at least do specials on them until they are 18 or so. Im so looking forward to Mady being a teenager, the tups driving, School dances, graduation, prom and tons of other milestones.

She probablty felt it neccessary to confirm the story since people were calling her sister a liar. It sucks thought that because of kates actions the kids are going to lose out on all the fun they normally have with jodi. She takes them from kate every friday to give kate a hand. Some weeks she even takes them on other days in addition to friday. Remember, jodi and kevin only live five doors down from jon and kate, so they have probably been a big part of the childrens lives for the past five years. This sucks for the kids and for jodi and kevin.

X No wonder Jon and Kate are house hunting two states away. I've always liked Jodi on the show but making a one minute video to post on a blog while she's supposedly on vacation doesn't validate anything for me concerning her sister's blog. If Jodi is taking time away to heal from this than why in the hell is she perpetuating the situation even more by making the video? I've lost a little respect for Jodi after watching that video.

Usually, this extreme attempt to make a perfect family comes from a very dysfunctional family, usually involving some kind of substance abuse by the parent(s). Read about the personality characteristics of adults who grew up in alcoholic families - Kate hits pretty much all of the classics. In her striving to make perfect moments with perfectly dressed kids, it seems she misses out on the "smell the roses" moments. Again, I know nothing about her childhood and this is all speculation on my part. John, meh, he seems very passive-aggressive. Then again, if someone examined my life and how I raise my kids closely, I'm sure I'd be open to lots of criticism, too. I'd hate to have my worst parental melt-down moments recorded. Still, I wanna just let those kids run crazy and make mud pies and such. Controlled messes, like the pudding painting, are no fun, especially when followed up by a punishing rinsing with a cold hose! Some of you say that jody and her sisters actions (going public) is wrong, yet its ok for jon and kate to do it? Jon and Kates talked shit about jodi in public first, why shouldnt jodi and jodis sister be able to defend jodi? Just because the show is "jon and kate plus eight" and not "jodi and kevin makes seven" doesnt mean jon and kate should be able to say whatever they want and get away with it. Jodi and her family have every right to defend themselves.
