Bias? How about experience? Can't speak for everyone, but lots of us get a sense of a particular person based on prior life experiences and multiple interactions with a variety of people. Renny's sense, like mine, is that Dan is a fraud. And I'm giving Renny the benefit of the doubt that her sense of Dan stems from her experience dealing with others similar to and different than Dan. Further, if Dan during his DR sessions is to be believed, he is playing the role of a deceiver. So it is reasonable for Renny to question Dan's motives and actions and conclude that he's not forthright. It appears to me, for example, that much of the flattery Dan engages in is not genuine.

The question with respect to Dan, as it was with Dr. Will, is how much of the deceitfulness is gameplay and how much is hard-wired into his personality. Dan is not nearly as glib as was Dr. Will, and Dan exhibits a more bratty persona. So my conclusion is that Dan's deceitfulness, while part gameplay, is more closely associated with his real personality. And I'm thinking Renny feels the same way. Again, that's my take. But I would argue that it is not an unreasonable read of Dan.

We all get a read on someone based on our own life experiences, but what you listed for Dan seemed to have almost nothing to do with anything he has done in the game.

Everyone in this game is fake, and most of them don't bother to hide their fakeness, yet Renny has no problem coddling some of the biggest fakes (like Ollie). We're supposed to assume that Renny's hatred for Dan is all his fault and entirely based on some type of failing he has, instead of putting any of the onus on Renny's own flaws, which she has shown many of this week. I think Renny is a self-righteous, unstable player who will never, ever trust some people even if they worked hard to earn her trust.

Your read of Dan basically puts Dan in a situation where he loses either way -- if he ever brags about himself, then he's a wannabe Dr. Will, if he ever says anything out of turn, he's a brat, and if he doesn't, then he's an Eddie Haskell.
