The Ku-dam (Kuferestendam sp?) is always an interesting place to visit since you're a tourist. The Ka De We store will blow your mind. It's about 8-10 floors and the top one has the international food market. You could eat for a week up there! The various museums are interesting (especially the one by what used to be the Wall - I think Brandenburg?) where you can see the methods folks used to escape when the Wall was first put up. But the food is the ticket - be sure to get a brat on the street from a vendor - the best! (No, not like NYC where you might die from it - German's are clean, clean, clean.)

You learn that the world is a very small place and that people are people no matter where you go, but our cultures are truly alien. The educational value lies in teaching you the object lesson that you do not have to be what is expected of you. Plus they got some wicked good beer over there!
