Tonight was the first time I liked Drew. I thought that was a horrible song choice for Theo. Earl and Mookie will always be Earl and Mookie.
Overall, Mitch is lucky he's stayed this long, even though he was awright tonight.

This is tough--I liked everyone tonight. Very good show. Earl won me back by letting me hear his voice. Theo had some excellent moments, but I liked him
better last week. I am worried about My Mookie. I loved his take on the song, but it's not a song that wins people over, plus he didn't get a
standing o from the judges---someone else didn't either Mitch or Theo? I got Mitch more this week, but I'm not a huge fan. He does have really nice
eyes. On the fence about Drew--he had some great vocal moments, but the rocker thing seemed fake to me tonight, forced.

eta: I have to wonder, if Theo and Archuleta had both been on CI who would the judges have given Long and Winding Road to? And what would they have given
Cook?
(sorry for the double post, I thought I was in edit mode.) |

I thought my favorite two contestants, Theo and Mitch, were only alright tonight. Theo should have stucked to the melody-- I didn't enjoy the changes to
the song. I thought Mitch's performance was a snoozefest and that's one of my favorite songs of all time (def. my favorite Beatles song).
On the other hand, I thought that Mookie and Earl gave really fun, nuanced performances. I thought that tonight might be a dramatic role reversal--my favorite two performers giving the worst performances and the other three giving the best three performances--and then I heard Drew's. I don't get the Drew loving... not one bit. He made an exciting song terribly boring tonight and erased the gains he's made during the past weeks. My rankings tonight are the same as the performing order- Earl the best and Drew the worst. As an aside, I thought tonight showed how wonderful Canadian Idol's judges are. They are very deliberate in their judges' choice, know the contestants' respective strengths, and give specific advice in their critiques. It was 10x better than the judges' choice show in AI, where every year someone either sings "Open Arms," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," and the like. |

1. Mitch - well, obviously I like Mitch. It started off a little weak, and he had to settle into it, but I thought it was a good choice for him. And I
don't really have a problem with him playing the guitar, because he does it in a very unobtrusive way. Yeah, I just liked it. MITCH <3
2. Theo - Theo <3 too, but not quite as much. I actually don't like this song, and I was bored during his performance. It just reminded me of Josh Groban or something similar...which in this context, is zzz to me. Nothing wrong with his singing though. 3. Mookie - it was aight. Maybe I like Mookie more when he sings something recognizable, which is rare. Still, too bad he can't sing. 4. Drew - I like Drew, but I can't rank this one too high. Like last week, he seemed like he was focusing a little too much on his guitar and it detracted from his singing. Great voice, though, when he does remember to sing. 5. Earl - same old Earl. I actually paid more attention to the backup singers than Earl, because I couldn't really figure out what he was trying to sing. Meh... Overall, though, a very good week. But I WISH I WISH I WISH that they had sung two songs each, because I really would have liked to hear more from the Beatles catalogue, and less useless filler (what are they going to fill the half hour with tomorrow night?). Instead, we get EIGHT performances on Anne Murray week, which couldn't excite me less. |

Who the fuck do you think you are? Just out of curiosity. I think I would know if I watched or not. Besides there are no girls left, you thinking I'm a
fucking carpet muncher wouldn't you be inclined to believe that no vaginas = no interest for me?

It was a boring night, they really should have sang 2 songs a piece. That ruined it
1.Earl - Really the only performance I enjoyed on the night. I was glad he did the Joe Cocker version and he channeled it beautifully. 2.Drew - Meh, he's still a arrogant hobbit, but he was slightly better than usual I guess. 3.Mitch - I was scared because the start of it was awful and I didn't think he'd ever get on track. But he did and saved it <3 4.Mookie - Surprisingly disappointing. Though I think the judges screwed him with that choice. It's not really a performance song. 5.Theo - My goodness, he gains like 15 pounds a week. Boring song, boring performance, boring singer. Go home Theo |

Theo is not an emo. He's too pudgy.
The emo species have aversion to food and are bony and anorexic in appearance. |

In a season with the likes of Earl, Mookie, Amberly, Theo and even poor Katherine...I bet we end up with a final 2 of freaking Mitch and Drew.
That is so fuc*ing ridiculous, but there it is, and I would not be one bit surprised if thats what it comes down to. As much as I like Theo, if Earl goes home next week then this will be a very boring top 3. Theo is an awesome singer, but a little boring, Drew is bland and a poor mans Cook if anything, and Mitch? There are no words. |

I knew it. Damn you, Canada. Or maybe it should just be Damn you,Toronto.
Go Earl & Theo. Drew--you were okay, but after that dismal attempt to imitate Cook, take a hike. |

I still haven't watched the performances but I guess I'll Youtube them now.
It would be very typically Canadian Idol to start out with an excellent Top 24 and have it come down to the worst case scenario. Basically I think it will be Season 3, 4 and 5 all over again. Most deserving competitor left after everyone else is robbed vs least deserving shithead (w/regional support) ever (Theo vs Drew/Mitch). Everyone votes against said shithead, deserving person wins in the end, people are relieved but don't care all that much. It started off with the potential to be like Season 2 with a true showdown of wonderful talent in the end but of course with Canada voting they managed to screw it up royally. Theo vs Mookie was the last possibility for a finale that could go either way imo. Now Theo will just murder whoever he's in the F2 with. |

Yay drew surviving!
I just realise he's ambidextrous, I think He plays his guitar like a right-handed person, but plays the drums like a left handed person |

We might get a Melinda/Jordin scenario in the top 3.
with Theo = Melinda = consistently good/great week after week = hence "boring" Drew = Jordin = inconsistent, both are glory note fuckers, and the moment they're good they are reallly good (although I'm still not a fan of Jordin) |
