OK... but as far as I can tell is you are basing your whole idea of them quitting the tour based on the arbitrary ages they will be in four years rather than
their actual stated intentions, which is to keep playing at least until 2012. So if you think they are lying or are deluding themselves in thinking they can
still play four years from now, that's fine, but I happen to believe they can and will still play four years from now.

Nah, I'm mainly thinking that... well, seeing how much less interested they are in the sport over the past 4 years, I'm expecting that decline in
interest to progress even further over the next four years, to the point where I think at least one of them, if not both, will quit entirely. That's the
main thing. Then, combine the age factor with that, and it all becomes even more difficult to do.
The bigger question is... will we both still be at this silly-assed board four years from now to be discussing this then? |

The biggest event for this thread for the year is nearly HERE! The draws came out today.
(I think that the links for the draws below will dynamically change / move to subsequent rounds - as the tournament progresses.) Men's Draw Q1 - Nadal should walk to the Qtrs, perhaps meeting Blake, Nalbandian, or Monfils, there. Q2 - Perhaps the easiest Qtr; Ferrer - Simon in the top half, and Wawrinka - Murray in the bottom. Q3 - Potentially vicious; Roddick - Gonzalez in the top half, and Robredo, Safin, Tsonga, and the Djoker in the bottom. Q4 - Alright, TIPSY fans - he's in the top half, and has a golden opportunity, here!! Almagro, Gasquet, and Davydenko (in that order) are ALL beatable! In the bottom half, Federer's biggest challenge should be Verdasco... if he doesn't make the Qtrs, shame on him. Women's Draw (remember that Sharapova withdrew a few weeks ago) The potential Quarterfinal matchups are... Q1 - Ivanovic vs. Safina. Man, oh MAN! Hantuchova also in this Qtr. Q2 - Williams vs. Williams. Q3 - Zvonareva vs. Jankovic. Davenport, Bartoli, and Wozniacki also in this Qtr. Q4 - Dementieva vs. Kuznetsova. Chakvetadze and Schnyder are also seeded here. |

Sharapova withdrew to have time to recover from well-deserved surgery. Her voice-box was adjusted so she can never scream again. It will take away from Maria
in the sack, but vastly improve her tennis persona.

Why would Nadal do a shirtless pic? He finally gets to #1 so he takes his top off? IMHO it takes away from what really matters - which is his tennis.

Since Baghdatis is out, I'll be able to focus my positive energy 100% on Tipsy. In other words, I will curse him and he will go out in the first round.

9 1/2 HOURS, bitchez!!!
Agreed on the Nadal pic, Jonesy. Franklin, have you seen how far Marcos has fallen? He's at 46th now, due to his inactivity. It's weird to not see Haas, Ljubo, Marat, Ferrero, Lleyton, and Chela in the Top 32 anymore either, as well. Dropping last year's points, Fed's only 525 points ahead of Djoko for the 2nd spot, now. IF Novak wins it this year, he'll move into 2nd place by a minimum of 25 points over Roger, who'll fall to 3RD!! It's very, very much a possibility. |

Looks like Elena and Jelena are the benefactors to thel weak half of the draw usually reserved for Maria Sharapova. Seems like one of them will make The Finals
unless someone completely off the radar comes out of that half.
Potential Early Round Upsets on the Men's Side Cilic Vs Djokovic in 3rd Round Roddick Vs Gulbis in 2nd Round Stepanek Vs Federer in 3rd Tound It will interesting to see what Del Potro does he looked like a top 5 players the way he was beating down players at his Title runs in La and DC. He would have a tricky path if he is gonna go deep with Simon in the 3rd,Ferrer in the 4th and Murray in the QF's.

He may have lost to Nadal in straight sets but damn if that wasn't entertaining.

Q2 - Williams vs. Williams.
Fuck shit fuck shit they deserve to battle it out in the final, dammit! |

That was a very touching tribute that the USTA just put on, bringing out all (most) of the former champions. I had t.ears in my eyes when they brought out some
legends like Laver.

The Del Potro / Canas match is very good - Canas won the 1st, and the 2nd is right now going to a tiebreak!!
I really wish I'd have seen that Nadal - Phau match! Anna Chak (#10 seed) is already gone. Why in HELL would Fed and Nadal have anything to do with Don Kng?!?? And no, the Williams' don't "deserve" to get anything other than the seedings into which they're randomly placed - just like every other player on the WTA tour. |
