They both claim they didn't know he was going to do what he ended up doing.

And he told April the gist of it...Judas, cross, keeping his word, blah blah blah. I don't blame them for not stopping him or for pretending like they didn't know, but if this becomes another one of those lies that they get themselves believing (banner plane), then yeah, it's all bullshit and they're both delusional. They knew EXACTLY what he had planned.
