My thoughts on tonight:

I think the reason why Idol and SYTYCD has been going down the tube is not because it's growing stale, it's because of Nigel. He picks his favorites from the beginning and pimps them to no end. Even when they screws up, he makes no mention of it and every critique is a, OMG SO AMAZING WOOOOOO!! There were really no surpises in terms of the early boots and who made the end. Courtney was the only big surpise and they really downplayed that. The show is just too obvious and it's losing it's luster.

The first dance of the night was pretty decent. If anyone remembered the diaster that was Sabra & Neil (who danced first) in the finale, this was night and day. It was very hard hitting and Courtney really kept with with Twitch. This is probably my favorite Twitch routine. However, Twitch never performs up to par on any other style, EVER!

I think the Josh & Katee dance was good. Both performed very well and Katee's performance in the beginning was chilling.

The girls danced sucked. It had nothing to do with how either danced it, it had to do with their choreography. They were twirling around a freakin umberella for crying out loud. Although, all female dances seem to suck (accept Ashlee/Melody season 1 <333333333333)

The guys did fabulous. Josh was amazing with his tricks. With Twitch, he had okay tricks in there too but the rest of the dance was unpolished from my viewpoint on him. I think the guys easily did better than the girls but I don't think it's fair to compare. The guys had choreography where they could really really showcase their stuff, and the girls twirled an umberella around.

With the last two numbers. Josh/Courtney did look really tired and how convenvient that they had hip hop in there for Josh. I was shocked Nigel randomly called them both out on their lack of techinque, although I don't think it'll matter much. Katee/Twitch were pretty good. Katee had fabulous lines and that cartwheel was killer. I hated how the judges GUSHED over Twitch and then said "Oh and bravo Katee!"

Overall the solos were lackluster as always. Twitch's solo was always horrible like usual. Josh's was pretty lackluster. He did a bunch of popping and didn't do any of his usual tricks. Courtney usually has one of the better solos and she didn't really move me. Katee probably had her best yet but it still fell short of some of the best contemp solos we have seen.

In the final dance, well that shit was horrible. It was funny that Mary said Twitch stood out. I personally couldn't tell the guys apart. Mary didn't even mention Josh in the final number which is what I found odd.

Overall, Josh probably will win and deserves to win based on tonight. However, I don't think it was fair because he was really the only one (and Twitch sorta) that was given choreography that was going to produce a showstopper. How boring, I could have called him winning in like the second week. They randomly threw Katee in there as a spoiler and I think she really gained a fanbase. I hate how since Josh is viewed as an amazing untrained dancer, they randomly acted like Twitch has been up to his standard all season and it's been a battle between them. Really it's basically been the Josh show in terms of the guys and Twitch has consistently underperformed all season.
