When hurricane Juan hit Halifax a few years back, we got 3 days off I think. It actually kind of sucked though because everything was closed for days and we
didn't get power back for almost a week so we just sat there staring at each other. Not as fun as you'd think.

Last major storm was Allison in 2001. Not a big storm, but sloooow moving and flooded the fuck out of Houston.

I am seriously sick to death of waiting for them to name one after me. When they finally do I hope it leaves a path of destruction never before seen by mankind. |

Yuck. Hopefully your power won't go out and it stays a tropical storm.
Nothing like long power outages in the south in August. |

"Hurricane Lard-Ass" just doesn't have a nice ring to it, dear.

The best thing about EDOUARD is the fucked up spelling that leaves uber-caucasian newscasters scrambling for the correct pronunciation.

Yay - I scored my water, bread, peanut butter, Wolf chili, gas, and cash this morning (as well as my regular groceries). I already had 3/4 of a tank, but I
topped it off. I didn't have to wait in line at all - at the grocery store, Walgreen's, the bank, or the gas station. Of course, that could be because
I'm on the far west side and even Allison didn't affect us - although I did run into my neighbor at the store.
I hope that my supplies are for naught - I don't want to deal with a lack of a/c. |

I've got my shotgun and plenty of shells, I think I'll be OK.

I can't imagine Houston in August without a/c. I lived there one summer. It rained non-stop with the backlash of a couple of hurricanes thrown in. It is
such a beautiful city because of all the rain, but it was not a great place to live because of all the rain.

I'm going to the grocer now. You've all officially froken me out. At least Dr. Neil Frank is innocent this time.
And I think I can live without the A/C, it's the cable I'm worried about. |

And the internets - what if we can't post for several days?

Noe, you can't live without a/c in the summer.

Waiting out front takes all of the fun out of it - that gives them too much warning.

Your boot's not coming off. Edouardo says so.
I'm trying to figure out who has the safest house. We're all too close to bayous. It could be you. But I'm not evacuating anywhere. When I drove out to my parent's for "RITA"...that was some scary shit. |
