Well, I prefer a backpack, but if you go to the gym before or after work and take your lunch and carry a laptop, you don't have much choice but to haul
something around. Also, in my case, I have some bad arthritis in my spine, so weight has to be centered on my back or on the ground, not in a shoulder bag.
Still, I find it way too annoying to be fussing with a wheeled briefcase.
