I would expect nothing less than flawless drama from JeFa's thread. It's his ultimate tribute. <3
Tell us what frighteningly large books you're reading this month, JF. |

I just read "God's Funeral" by A. N. Wilson. I laughed so hard!
On George Eliot: "Poor horse-faced lady." "Ever since he and George Eliot moved into The Priory, St. John's Wood (November 1863), one feels, ugly female novelists have been setting up house in North London with pushy liberal-minded journalists." On George Bernard Shaw: "Thanks to Shaw, the first ladies' lavatory in England was constructed at the top of Park Street, now Parkway, in Camden Town, London NW1...Nowadays the increasingly elderly fans who clamber from their charabancs for matinee productions of "Major Barbara" or "The Doctor's Dilemma" have more cause to be grateful to GBS than they know. After all, thanks to the existence of public lavatories for women they can settle back for two or three hours of facile paradox and wholly unmemorable epigram, safe in the knowledge that they can be in all senses 'comfortable'." |

If JeFa is in fact truly a mink...then he is elite. And, that's all there is to it. |

I kind of followed the threads here, but I canceled my HBO after the last season of Sopranos.

Buy it.
Then tell me what you think so we can argue about Thomas Jefferson some more. |

I am actually a lot more pro-Jefferson recently. But I still hate Tolkien.
Can you recommend other Wilson for me? Not that it matters, I fear I'll have to read all of his oeuvre now. |

I can see how some of Jefferson's more recent work has caused you to revisit your opinion of him.
