Right now they're trying to rescue a guy who fell into a gas well and apparently has slid down about 80 feet into it.
The shaft is 18 inches wide. They say he fell into it and folded up so that his head and feet are pointed up and his posterior pointed down and he's having trouble breathing.
Here is my question.
How the HELL do you manage this? If my fat ass fell into an 18 inch wide hole, they'd find me sitting on the ground with the 18 inch pipe only half surrounding my ass. And if by some miracle I did manage to wriggle into the actual hole, I'd skid to a stop about a foot in.
Someone explain this to me. How does an average sized adult fall 80 feet into a pipe with an 18 inch circumference?
