I get asked to speak in front of my church group all the time, so I must be OK at it. I don't like it though because I actually try to have something
interesting to say, so I put in a lot of prep time.

I hate it. I have to do it 2 or 3 times a year to multiple classes of students. I usually take some kind of mind altering drug prior to it. I hope I
haven't embarrassed myself yet.

I was a theater major in college so it doesn't bother me at all.

When I speak in front of clients or students? Not a problem. When I speak in front of peers? Usually okay. When I speak in front of my instructors like when
I'm being examined? Definitely more nervous but once I get started, I'm okay. Same goes for large crowds like speaking at a wedding. The anticipation
is much worse than the actual act of public speaking.

Hate it, but I do it. Loved doing stand up comedy, and singing. Those I never gave a thought about, But when it comes to large groups,
*shudder* I am nervous all hell.

My job is public speaking so no, it doesn't bother me.

For some reason, I feel more comfortable and confident speaking in public than I do speaking to a small group of people or a person one-on-one. It could also
have to do with the fact that I had to take six courses in all forms of communication in high school, and then an additional public speaking course in college.

If you did it every day you would get used to it.
Preperation is the key. Preperation, notes and confidence. I'm an attention whore so I love the fact that I have a group of people listening to me! heh |

It is definitely NOT my favorite thing to do but I realize it's important in my career field. I actually FORCE myself into situations where i HAVE to take
the lead role if presenting with peers. Luckily my colleagues do not know how much I HATE it (I don't want them to know of any of my fears or doubts...
gotta maintain my level of perfectionism and professionalism).
I don't know if this is 100% but I have remember hearing that more people are afraid of public speaking than those afraid of dying. |

No, the people are shocked when I'm speaking in public alone and my voice looked like an angry man's voice.
