Doctors have been placed on emergency standby after five of the housemates fell ill last night, The Sun reports.

Bex, Belinda, Stuart and Sara, who are all housemates from Hell, were all feeling unwell after completing Le Tour de Grand Frere as part of the French-themed shopping task. Politics student Luke has been bedridden since Sunday.

The task, which required the Hell group to cycle 1,040km between them on two bikes, was completed on very little sleep and limited food.

Property developer Stuart was yesterday suffering from sickness and diarrhoea, Sara said she felt "delirious" and Bex crawled to her bed after complaining that she was unable to stand.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "As always, the health and welfare of all the housemates is of utmost importance to us. Housemates are monitored 24 hours a day by producers and are encouraged to talk to Big Brother whenever they feel unwell and require medical attention."

Big Brother was last night also monitoring the conditions of Mikey and Lisa, who share a bedroom with the ailing housemates.
