She's talking to Mark Day but someone's mowing the lawn outside so I "unfortunately" missed what he said. He's wearing obnoxious gold shoes. Mark is up next talking about Newfoundland and his family working in the fishery. Parade in his hometown, blah, blah, blah. He chose "Dancing in the Streets," which is a cover David Bowie did. Of course Mark is the one to bend the rules.. So, so, so very flaming. I just want to fucking punch this guy in the face whenever I see him. He needs to go home now. (Notice how the 3 people seem to hate the most are 1, 2, and 3, clearly they aren't the show's favourites either.) God this guy is a legend in his own mind. Fuck you you cocky mother fucking bastard.

Mookie is half Asian, it's confirmed now. His mom may provide entertainment throughout the season if we get to see her more. He chose "The Man Who Sold the World." It was excellent and after three performances ranging from decent to downright hideous it was a welcome change. I just love this guy's voice. He's just so damn cool.

Seven Persons Alberta <3s Amberly. (I love how like every contestant not from Toronto has like a hometown party and Toronto ones like busk and have a family dinner for their hometown party). Amberly's jockness is talked about again. Amberly picked "Space Oddity," umm wtf? She looks amazing and as always she's wonderful to listen to. Very strange song choice for her but she can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes, or rather ears just because I love listening to her so much. For real though it was a friggin' weird song choice for her. Gotta hear what the judges say about this. Jake doesn't really like the Natalie Merchant of that song so he thought it was okay and of course had to mention Jake's version. Sass thought she did it the way she would do it, but it was uninspiring for her. Farley thought she had sung it with more intensity, not enough energy. Zack of course radically disagrees them (Amberly is his favo) and thought she looked like a million bucks (she did) and sang it well (she did). She's obviously not Jacob and it was probably bad song for Canadian Idol because of that but she did her thing and wasn't trying to outdo Jake's version and I loved it. Of course like I said I'm biased as fuck and Amberly can do no wrong in my eyes. Oliver Pigott seems to be in the house tonight and he stood up for her.

Amberly is so far from Jacob's style and didn't even do the same version as him. Plus Season 2 was ages ago, great performance but she obviously wasn't going for the Jacob theatrics.

But I still really enjoyed that. I understand what some of the judges were trying to say though, it could have used a little more passion. As for Mookie, his performance was a big meh for me, as usual. The whole thing just seemed kind of muddy to me. And he's half-Asian? I thought maybe a quarter, but he doesn't look half-Asian. Roadblocker's right, KKKanada just got a wake up call.

They show the Piggott's show on the weekend, him and Oliver singing together. Again Toronto contestants have something other than a hometown party, it was just Oliver, Seb, their sister and their mom. Oliver said he was overjoyed for Seb and is glad one of them is there to represent. Seb picked "Let's Spend the Night Together." Seb may not be a great technical singer but I love listening to him sing and watching him on stage. He's beautiful and I love hearing the man sing. Tonight I thought he was okay, a bit too shouty, I liked it though. Oh duh, Oliver is there because of his brother. Sass thought it was a clam fest, which is apparently a mess up.

Seriously, this was the worst top 10 night I have ever seen. The best performance was at the end of the show when the credits were rolling and the band did their usual thing. I have so many issues with just about everything and everybody. Drew - Thank god he went first. I want this piece of fodder gone. Interesting with the drums...but his vocals still fucking sucked. Adam - First drums, then a motorcycle. This was better for him, but yeah...meh. Mark - Holy mother fucking christ. x eleventy billion. Somebody want to loan me a gallon of Javex please? Everything about him is really starting to piss me off. Mookie - He had an off-night and was still one of the better performances. Amberly - The only one I don't have an issue with tonight. Her voice is just amazing. I was entranced. I couldn't even remember Hedley Hoggard and his blue suit. Sebastien - One of the only songs I recognized, and I liked it. I really like this guy's attitude too. Ok, maybe only two people I don't have an issue with. Earl - Didn't see it...by this point I had lost all hope and had flicked over to something else...I think it was Friends. Katherine - WHY? WHY? WHY are they praising this girl so much? She's nowhere near as good as they say she is. I wish it was possible for somebody to sing with their mouth closed...her teeth are kinda distracting. Theo - Theo + Piano = Good. I get it. I get it. ENOUGH WITH THE FUCKING PIANO! Geezus. Actually, you know what...enough with the instruments period. They're getting overused now. Mitch - Didn't see it. Home Run Derby won out.

As for Amberly she reminds me of Theresa in regards to what her performances make you feel. She may not be the best technical vocalist but her voice is so sweet and pure to listen to. Her performances are simple but just beautiful and emotional and wonderful. She's just mesmerizing and you want to listen to her. I love it. Earl is up next though, again huge party in Alberta at some kind of outside stadium, biggest party so far. Lots of Vote for Earl t-shirts and what not. Earl picked "Rock and Roll Suicide." I still love his voice but this was a piece of shit. It was just talking with melody. Parts of it showed his voice that I love and it got better towards the end and it had the Earl passion and errrmmm Prairie Krumping but overall it was just weird and crappy. The end was great though actually.

It looked like a 16 year old fat lesbian making an ass of herself. Scratch that, it WAS a 16 year old fat lesbian making an ass of herself. I still want him to stay though just for the LOL factor and Lord knws he will stay a while. I actually disagree with smartguy (for once) This top 10 is very good, but they have zero versatility. It's always more of the same. Everybody plays it safe and refuses to step out of their element. This will get really coma-inducing as the weeks go by, unless they throw a Weird Al Yankovic theme night at them or something. ETA: Earl isn't drunk but yes, he's intoxicated. Think something green....

But oh Lord, then she starts singing and I can't stand her. She has a few great notes because she has a nice rasp, but then the rest of what she sings is just generally sharp and all Frenchy. Ugh. Once again, it wasn't the most terrible performance of the night coughMARKcough but the judges need to stop pointlessly pimping her. Best performance my ass...

Amberly will stay in easily but Katherine needs a lot more help to keep her in. I think she's good but they have to paint her as amazing to get her some votes. Speaking of Katherine though she's up next and she's from Quebec so naturally no big town party for her, but a bit of family time. Oh wait, I spoke too soon she had a big Graduation thing and she got her high school diploma. I actually like her performance. It has the intensity the judges wanted Amberly to bring and that kind of thing suits Katherine. I love her voice, she too looks like a million bucks and she obviously has a lot of passion and she's having a great time. She's putting out fire with gasoline or something, I missed the title of the song. She's adding fuel to the lesbian fire. I like her and I give the girls the night so far, regardless of how the judges felt about Amberly. I like her but Zack is really laying it on thick though, he said she could make a huge rock record. Jake said vocally it was the best performance of the night. She reminds Sass of a young Debra Harry but she sings even better. Farley said she killed the stage and he's really looking forward to seeing her the week after x 5 or some shit. Damn she must be low in votes if they need to pimp her that hard.

And I agree with you...surprise surprise, this top 10 is actually quite good, but 80% of them sucked hard tonight and/or did their usual shit. Early voting report: I'm batting about .950 for Amberly so far. Lines are pretty wide open. Looks like Newfoundland was even turned off by...whatever the hell that was that Mark did.
