Stone's plea for help.)� Here is the rule in question: "Participant must own all copyright and performance rights to any music and video submissions." I used all borrowed footage in the video�so it looks like I missed my shot at the Mole once again. I just don't have the time to create a new one.
Always the bridesmaid but never the bride.� Oh, well, hopefully it will still help the greater cause.

This is my first post here, but I'm a regular at the abc.com message board... I am sure you probably know about the producer's save the mole make a youtube video campaign. We aren't so sure it's going to work... So, my husband and I came up with an idea the other night... Following in the footsteps of Jericho (CBS) fans and Friday Night Lights (NBC), I make a petition to all fans to send a letter and lemonhead (to honor Paul Grassi) to the ABC headquarters. Below, I add my letter to ABC as an example:

I have watched every season of The Mole, and I believe it is the premier example of intelligent television. It requires so much more strategy than other reality shows out there right now. I was so excited to see that you were bringing The Mole back for another season. But now that the season is almost over, I know of lots of people that would feel it's "sour" to not renew it for another season. It would be beneficial if it was put on at an earlier time slot, where families can watch it together. As a family-friendly station, I would believe that you would want to have something that parents and their children would be able to watch as a family. It is so much more "pure" than many of the other shows that are on at 8 PM. I'll give you an example - Big Brother on CBS. It is extremely raunchy, and they put that show on at 8 PM. I promise that I would get 5 more people to watch The Mole if you renew. Also, if you allow 1 sponsor every week put some kind of clue in one of their ads run during the episode, the fans will be forced to watch the advertisements, especially in the day and age of Tivo and DVR. Consider this an avid fan of throwing lemons at you if you don't renew The Mole for another season. You know what they say when life gives you lemons? You make lemonheads and renew another season of The Mole! Avid fan of The Mole,

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I hope you didn't actually mail that letter to ABC. If (and it's
a big one) they actually bother to open it and start reading, they'll crumple it up faster than you can solve the CELL-MOLE puzzle. My main concerns with
the letter are:
1) You make comparisons to CBS; 2) I believe (although am not certain) the commercials shown are dependent upon the broadcast station airing the show; 3) You don't really give solid reasons for why the show should be saved (saying that it's an intelligent, family-friendly show and that lemons will be coming their way if they don't renew it just won't cut it). I do, however, like your idea about sending lemons to ABC headquarters. I remember the amount of work it took to organize the Save Jericho campaign, and our campaign can benefit from operating along the same lines. If you're serious about getting the campaign going, I suggest you first brainstorm ideas for a proper letter with members here*. Once that's out of the way, get the logistics in place for sending thousands of lemons to ABC HQ. *You'll probably get your thread stickied so that everyone can see it and post something on the ABC boards linking them to your thread here. I would suggest starting the thread on the ABC boards, but it's a mess trying to find stuff and there is no "sticky" option. Stick to this site. |

I've posted at about 3 or 4 different boards other than the ABC board, added a myspace bulletin and blog, sent messages to Paul, Jim, and savethemole on youtube. I actually received a response from Paul, and he's on board. What would you write? I wasn't part of the Save Jericho campaign, so I wouldn't know how much work was involved... |

My friend works at a dermatologist and has access to specimens of actual moles removed from people's bodies and kept in fluid. Perhaps we could send these
