She is the most controlling, self-involved person I've ever seen on tv, and I can't believe she watches the episodes and doesn't clue into how horrible she's being. The trip to Disney was like watching a train wreck - you give the kids bowls of ice cream to eat and then it comes as a shock that one child out of eight spills some down their front?? What a disaster!! Sheesh, take the kid to the nearest water fountain or the restroom and sponge the shirt with water; it's Florida, for cripes sake, it'll dry quickly. Or here's a thought - you're going out for the day with six three year olds...hmmm...maybe a few extra shirts in a bag might be handy? And the whole going-off-on-Jodi-and threatening-to-off-Colin's-bear thing was so ludicrous. It's just amazing how she can manage to suck every bit of joy out of anything they do.

And what's with her just watching the kids do things? When the kids are at Jodi's she's there helping them do things, some fun project, but you never see Kate doing that, or even just reading a book before bed with them.

But now, according to the boards at imdb, Jon and Kate are spending most weekends away from home, doing speaking engagements, telling other people how to be parents and hawking their children's pictures. One person at that board actually went to one of these appearances at a local church. She was so excited that she got to pay $14 for her ticket, then contribute to a love offering, and _then_ got to shell out $10 apiece for autographed pictures of the kids and Jon and Kate!! O joy.

My main concern is the effect this is having on the kids. When they get to be elementary school age, how are they going to feel about having their puking and peeing and pooping moments forever preserved on tape? Child stars have a hard enough time of it, but at least they have a real life to escape to. These kids' don't catch a break.
