I never doubted that Jon and Kate were doing the show for the money.
Why would anyone do a reality show if they're not getting something in return? If people are so turned off by Jon
and Kate and don't want to see them profit from the show than stop watching it. Nothing kills a show faster than
low ratings.

In the Christmas episode when one of "the people who love our kids" was reciting their little pre-planned Christmas greeting for the cameras,
Kate was making fun, saying it was corny, and laughing!
Kate has it all backwards (no surprise there). Instead of saying 'we do this for "the people who love our kids" she should say, "we do this to show how much we love the people who have helped us out." What a monument misplaced ego she has. |

I don't begrudge Kate doing the show and making money from it. Putting 8 kids through college not to mention the day to day crap, kids are expensive... but
if she is preventing people like her sister in law who did nothing but help from earning any money from it, that is just wrong and sad, and very selfish...
like someone said it wasn't like the money was coming out of her pocket.

but I would have to insist that those well-meaning people give their money/gifts to people truly in needIf Jon or Kate had a shred of class, they would have donated all those free gifts to a children's hospital. But no, the bastards kept them all. I always thought they must have gotten quite a bit of money when Jon's dad died. He had a dental practice after all.But wasn't he in partnership with the dentist we saw on the show? (The lady who cleaned the kids' teeth) I thought Jon mentioned that. If that's the case, then Jon would have received only his father's share of the practice. Which might or might not have been a lot. But, his mother is still alive, right? That means she would have received the practice money and Jon would only get it upon her death. Unless Dr. Gosselin's will wasn't the norm. Oh hell, who cares. I'm pathetic for even wondering about this.

I wonder if TLC are aware of the incredibly HUGE backlash that is about to come down on what was, until just recently, arguably their most popular show. But
as has been said, they shot themselves in the foot with all of these marathons they keep showing.
I'll admit...I liked them at first (J&K that is). Until I found out what they're really all about. Now I'm just incredibly sorry for those poor kids. |

I really enjoy this show even though I do find Kate irritating, extremely irritating.
I believe that what was written in the linked articles is mostly malicious fiction with just enough truth thrown in to make it seem believable. I can't make myself believe that Jon and Kate are that cruel and evil, especially to their own family, and then continue to watch the show. Yes, they should donate the freebies to others in need, and Kate has admitted that she doesn't. Jodie should be paid for her time on the show, and maybe she is. The article could well be wrong. It seems to me that it would be up to the network to strike a deal with Jodi and not Kate. Jon quit his job? Doesn't he voice-over at the beginning of each episode that he works in IT but is able to make his own hours? As I said, I just can't believe everything written in the articles. |
