You're right about that - they seem to have no concept of loyalty or team chemistry/team building or whatever you want to call it. It seems like it's very much a mercenary approach for the Rangers.

It's a good base, though. Redden, Jagr, Gomez, Lundqvist, Rosival, Drury.

Those 6 guys are all better than anyone the Leafs have.

And the Leafs are, once again, assembling a collection of third- and fourth-liners to rival anyone in the league. Who needs top-6 forwards when you can just load up on bottom-6 guys?

Commodore is a freaking turtle. He can't hustle in my not so humble opinion.

Campbell is way overpriced. I would say his salary should be halved, at least.

What I don't get about Toronto right now, who is going to guide these younger guys in the dressing room and on ice. No heart or merit examples... CuJo maybe. At 700k for 15 to 20 games (Fletcher said that yesterday) he is a pretty good value priced addition based on last season.

I am shocked by Hossa only doing a one year deal.

There are actually players who will take less money for the chance to win a ring.

IIRC either one or both of Datsyuk & Zetterburg contract expires at the end of 2008-09 and will be in for a big raise, so the Wings don't have the cap space in 2009-10 for Hossa (unless the cap goes up significantly or Lidstrom retires). From Hossa's point of view, as long as he produces he'll be in the same position a year from now, and will likely command top dollars again.

Redden provides some leadership on the blueline and is a legitimate PP QB.

My Ottawa buddies (used to live there myself) say that Redden's play has really deteriorated, and there was no way Ottawa would pay anywhere near the kind of money that he wanted - we'll know in a year or so who will be laughing (Rangers or Senators fans).
