OK given that the Cubs swept the previous weekend, I think I can deal with what transpired this weekend. But if the Cubs get swept by the Cards next weekend
I'll be LIVID.

I'm ever so grateful I wasn't able to get tickets to the Cell. I was so tired after a late night at the ER that I fell asleep in front of the TV during the game tonight. I guess that was a good thing. This will be only the third week of the season that I won't be seeing the Cubs play at Wrigley. Anything else going on in Chicagoland this week? |

Aramis Ramirez will be missing the first 3 games of the San Fran series for family issues. While it does suck, Im glad it isnt injury related, and Id rather
him out vs. San Fran than St. Louis, who I along with the rest of Cubs nation am beginning to accept are not a fluke, and are not going away. Too bad Brewer
nation wont accept it.

Yeah, it's not like he quit on the Phillies by conceding the division to the Mets or anything.
It was nice coming back Saturday and watching King Johan the Great pitch. I didn't realize how much I missed his greatness. Too bad he pitches for a team with a pathetic joke of an offense. It's kinda hard to win when you have stiffs like Easley, Delgado, Tatis, and Andy Phillips (wtf?) in your lineup. |

King Johan has a 2.53 ERA over his last 5 starts.
Nice to see that much hasn't changed with the Mets since I left. Reyes gets picked off in a big spot, Castillo is still afraid to swing the bat, Beltran taking fastballs down the middle of the plate, and Delgado striking out with RISP (hitting batting practice fastballs for HR's off lousy relievers doesn't count) |
