Also, for anyone--who is Andy? Andy Skib was the front man for the band Midwest Kings. David had been friends with them for years before actually moving to Tulsa to join them and play guitar. There's a great clip of them on YouTube doing a cover of Temple of the Dog's song "Hunger Strike". Andy and David do a call and response thing and it kicks lots of ass. Andy also did back up vocals on the song "Hold" for David's first band, Axium when he was about 17, and later for "Silver", a song on David's solo album Analog Heart. Andy also appears in a few of those goofy pics that were posted on a previous page. In short, David and the Skibster go waaaay back and have a major bromance going on. The reason Andy is in L.A. is that he's working on his next album. Oh, and here's a bit of trivia about Midwest Kings: they once entered a talent contest where they lost to a girl group headed by...Alaina Whitaker, David's future fellow Top 24 contestant on Idol. Whomever judged that contest is a fucking moron.

That's really good info, liquid. Thank you. Seems like David may still be thinking about a band down the road instead of a strictly solo artist career.
That may be a very smart decision if he has some really talented people and doesn't have Kim playing tambourine and singing back up.
'Cause that would just suck. eta: I just went and listened to his stuff and I love it. Great voice, lyrics, music. I am going to go back tomorrow and see what I can buy. I can completely see why Cooks fits in with this. My older son will totally want all of the music on his itouch and I will be the coolest Mom for getting him some great music none of his friends have. I just can't let him know how much I like it.
