Sound wise? Best sound of any hard rock or metal of the time.
Def Leppard were hot and cold. One tour they were unbelievable, the next sucked ass, the next - back to brilliant.

The problem with G n'R concerts in the late 80s was the fact you were with too many people who were a mirror image of each other... in one confined space.

I saw GnR with the Stones and Living Colour in LA back in...89? 90? I dunno. Steel Wheels tour for the Stones. Very average sets from everybody.

Probably Pink Floyd, Division Bell tour.
Been to a couple Allman Brothers shows and they are up there. Gotta have Dicky though |

I was a very big Living Colour fan. Sad times.

I always find the big money concerts to be a let down.
The best shows are the ones you never expect to be good. I got free tickets to see Santana when he was in his transitional period and he was fucking awesome. |

most expensive tickets: Pearl Jam/Sonic Youth - $60 (meh)

Yep, Jesus Jones was a really cheap ticket in a very small venue and it was awesome.

saw Midnight Oil as a result of telling Mr CBR that we were either attending my boss's housewarming party or we had a prior engagement and he had to make
the prior engagement true (I can't lie very well) and he found they were gonna be playing that night - convert was awesome - small venue and big sound
but what I totally don't get are the people who can sit on their asses w/ moving during a rocking concert instead of dancing or making some kind of movement |

Worst was not because of the performer but because of the fucktards running the show.
Ray Charles was at the Madison Blues Fest about 8 or 9 years ago. All day long the sound system was working great and the performers sounded great all over the park. Just before Ray came on, a couple of the jackasses running the show decided to "adjust" the sound system. They fucked it up so bad you couldn't hear/understand what Ray was singing anywhere in the park. After maybe 5 or 6 songs most of us left in disgust. |

Snakes And Arrows wrote: I love Rush, but the problem with Rush live, at least the two shows I saw, is that they play everything just like on the album. So it's pretty much like you are running the CD through a huge sound system. It is impressive to a degree that they can play everything exactly the same, but I would prefer to see Alex just let it rip. Primus opened for Rush at one of the shows, and that was excellent! I also saw Primus at a small venue once. Only time I ever moshed. I got punched in the face. It was awesome |
