Airai Tribe - Day 20
<A wide view of the Airai members is shown, as indistinct conversation can be heard and the camera switches angles to show two rats fighting over a piece of coconut>
Eliza: What's with the rats today? <Eliza is now shown turning towards Jason> J? I could hear them squeaking [inaudible]… <A clip of a rat racing past the fire is shown, before the camera cuts ahead to show another close-up view of Jason, and Tracy says "These rats are vicious">
Jason - CONFESSIONAL: Well, right now, the rats are once again enjoying our fire. <The camera shows Eliza again, as she says "They're gross!"> They were everywhere last night, and they were really loud. <laughs> They're like squealing all night, and it really becomes a nuisance to have around camp. <Another clip of the four Airai members is shown next>
Eliza: They were so loud last night; <short pause> I just knew they were all over me… <The camera then scrolls back over to Jason and Tracy again>
Jason: <to Eliza> I'm sure the rats would make a delicious dinner. <laughs> <Eliza is shown>
Eliza: I don't know whether or not I could eat a rat. <Mikey can be heard saying something inaudible> I'd have to be beyond starving, wouldn't you? <Tracy is then shown next>
Tracy: <to Eliza> I'd eat one… <The camera now goes back to Jason>
Jason - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> I'd be very tempted right now to try and catch a rat and eat it, <A close-up view of a rat hopping out of Airai's shelter is shown> but I'm pretty sure there'd be almost no meat on there <laughs> and the energy it would take to catch one would not even be worth it… <A rat is shown scurrying near Jason, as he instantly reaches out his hand and tries to grab it, as it darts away. Jason then frowns>
Jason: Missed him… <A prominent drumbeat is heard, as the screen fades out>
Episode 8 - Secret Scene #2: Wicked Storm
After enduring a fierce storm on Exile Island, Kathy recounts the miserable experience and draws on her inner strength to remain in the game.
Exile Island - Day 22
<The camera shows a fast-forwarded view of the gloomy sky, as the dark clouds rapidly shift, and night becomes day again. The tide is shown washing several coconuts onto the beach, before the camera switches angles to show Kathy and Tracy under the cave>
Tracy: That was a rough one last night… <A groggy Kathy is shown sitting up, as she shakes>
Kathy: <to Tracy> Are we dead, or did I make it? <The camera then zooms back in on Tracy>
Tracy: <to camera> I'm so cold. I'm just shivering… <Another view of a shivering and crying Kathy is shown, as the camera scrolls back over to her>
Kathy - CONFESSIONAL: Rain stops, sun comes up, <The dull sun can now be seen rising over the calm ocean> and we were just shivering and shaking uncontrollably like two epileptics with Parkinson's… <A close-up view of a somber Tracy is shown next>
Tracy: <to Kathy> My body is, like, so numb. <The camera now shows Kathy sobbing again>
Kathy: I know; I don't know what to do! <The camera continues to focus on Kathy>
Kathy - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> For hours, we just laid there and shivered in the cold just trying to retain some body heat, <A wide view of both Kathy and Tracy is shown> and I felt my mind fade out for a few seconds; <long pause> I was so close to just walking away, but I didn't. <Tracy is now shown crawling out of the cave, as she holds her hand out to Kathy and says "Come on"> I couldn't give up. I couldn't just throw in the towel on everything after making it 21 days. <Tracy is now shown attempting to start a fire, before the camera scrolls back over to Kathy again> I am trying very hard to stay positive, but <She takes a long pause, and shakes her head> I can't do another night like that. <The camera continues to focus on an emotionally depleted Kathy> I couldn't have done last night by myself… <A prominent drumbeat is heard, as the screen abruptly fades out>
